DIY clip fabrication

Car largely back together. No clutch pedal yet, needs proper bleeding it seems. Bubbles under gravity had stopped so thought I'd won that battle

Short suming up:
The fabricated clips do work, most successful is that made from the big paper clip. That wire is 1.5mm diameter, compared to 1.2mm measured on the rusty remnant. I thought this was near enough but it popped off initially when out under pedal pressure. Slimmed down slightly with belt sander, the popping off stopped.

However, watching closely as the pedal is depressed, you can see the assembly shifting somewhat. (It did even more so with the MK1 DIY clip made of thinner gauge wire!)

This puts me below 100% faith in my DIY clips. I've tried to find them to buy but have been defeated thus far. The type as per Mick linked earlier - which appears very similar to other wire clips elsewhere in the clutch system - will not engage effectively with the pipe on both sides at once (it will just about grab one side if positioned "just right". I tried the old slave cylinder's clip of this type - no good, sadly.

Even looked at borrowing a clip from one of the other vehicles here, none had a matching clip.

Annoying - why so annoying will become clear in next few days :)

This is what I need:

"CILINDRO RICEVENTE RACCORDO SPURGO FRIZIONE CITROEN C4 PEUGEOT 308 9676664180"

Or

"PSA 9676664180 Kupplungsnehmerzylinder NOS NEU genuine xn32656"

Or

https://ebay.io/m/bzhYv2

Autodoc lists it,
https://m.autodoc.co.uk/citroen-peugeot/27029793
But doesn't think it'll fit the 308!?

Can you fabricate them from piano wire? Comes in several gauges and will be stronger than paper clips although harder to work with.
B&Q should have it, perhaps Screwfix/ToolStation/Machinemart etc.

Another thought following Steve's idea, possibly bend from a kingsize safety pin? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/205603135678 :)

Thanks both, think I'm going to bite the bullet and stump up £45 on the assembly it sits in. I realise the clip I'm basing a new one off maybe less than the full picture (i.e. there's more to it than what's in front of me) that'd mean the "flex" I'm seeing us a result of an incomplete (new DIY made) clip rather than my attempt being a poor imitation.

If I could find a decent picture of the damn thing (in as new condition) I'd certainly have another go at making one, but I've tried and failed to find a decent image.

Icing on the cake was Google image search (looking at the picture of the clip I shared above) was quite convinced it was a "dried up earthworm" err, good try! :)

It took me once over 45 mins gravity bleeding let nature do its thing.

This topic has the procedure for bleeding the double clip slave cylinder. I had one on our last C3 and what a pain it was to bleed. I found using a Mityvac pump on the bleed nipple helped to suck the fluid through.
