Noted. It's a job for the professionals. I'll soon be looking for someone competent to do it. As part of the work I'll have the mess around the washer bottle spout tidied up.

Strawberry is driving very nicely.

Yesterday I scored a Garmin Nuvi Satnav in one of our local charity shops for a fiver. Works perfectly and has both received a software update and a free map update. Garmin are great as their maps appear to be common amongst all their devices. That I have a Garmin running watch and a couple of bike Garmins, I qualify for free map updates on all devices. Also, this Garmin dates from 2015 so top marks to Garmin for still supporting it.

I always grab the sat navs of the same brand Jim a couple from as little as a pound from boot fairs fully working and as you say free updates are still available, Little gems they are .

They are good navigation systems, we seem to have settled on them in our household too.

Getting ready for a battery change though as goes completely flat in short timescales.

My dad has replaced his (also Garmin) Sat Nav battery - a faff of a job with the thing stuck well together with loads of adhesive (not sure if a deliberate ploy to deter DIY replacement but definitely what could have been a straightforward job more of a mission.

On that basis we're making do with the poor batteries for a bit longer!

Yep, the Garmins are the best I've seen from that era and happy to discover the one I scored is a later Nuvi model than my other one with more features; it seems to tell me areas where mobile speed cameras may be prowling along. Maps are more colourful too

I checked Strawberry's header tank and there's no increase in little coppery flakes in the coolant - may be even less - so I'm not worrying about it.

I now have both my facemask/respirator and IR thermometer so now crack on... I'm thinking getting a full-face respirator was a good plan...

Ahh well, I need to ensure I have enough to last me until the end of my driving career

Thinking about fabricating a substitute Garmin mount, I found no need. eBay supply a whole plethora of them for less than £3. One is on order. Pointless to even try making one!

chap has spent several years attempting to lap the Nurburgring in under 10 minutes, using a 1.4 TUD powered Citroen AX.

My understanding is sub 10 minutes for the complex circuit is good going (indeed Clarkson failed to do so in a V6 diesel Jag S type)
