I ordered some oil online, this was shown...
What they've actually sent is this...
It doesn't specifically state "Stop Start" on it, but does state C2. Also on the back it states "ACEA C2; PSA Approval B71 2312".
The Castrol website after searching with my reg no shows the one I've received as recommended, and the one I ordered as the alternative.
Any reason to worry or not? I'm guessing it's OK, it's possible they're just updating the packaging as Stop-Start is no longer a novelty?
Does the PSA Approval code include the capability of using in a Stop-Start engine, or is it an optional extra?
Many thanks.
Is this 0W-30 Oil OK or not?

That is the correct grade, and specification for your actual vehicle as stated by Citroen. They can add on the Carlos Fandango superman features as much as they like, but it's the specification and grade that are the key factors to match.

I'd go with the ACEA and PSA standards (obviously and the grade too) if meets those then jobs a good un - do the PSA standards match what Peugeot/ Citroen call for?
Edit: Marc has already confirmed the above, gosh he's quick!

Thank you both, as I hoped but wanted to be sure. Double reassurance is even better!
Just wish sellers wouldn't substitute things like this.
Will chuck it in the engine with confidence.
I suspect it's an update, the "Stop Start" version is probably just the old packaging. Different barcodes on each though.

Re: Is this 0W-30 Oil OK or not?
Thank you very much, all hugely appreciated.
Just noticed it doesn't say "Fully Synthetic" on it anywhere either, including the back label.
Perhaps times have changed - Stop Start compatible and Fully Synthetic are just normal now, not the novelty they once were.
The downloadable datasheet states...
Advantages
Castrol MAGNATEC’s Intelligent Molecules:
Cling to engine parts when the oil drains down
Adsorbs to metal surfaces to make engine parts more resistant to wear
Are combined with synthetic technology to provide increased protection in high and low temperature
applications
Provide continuous protection for different driving conditions, styles and temperatures
Weird how they've made it look so much cheaper though.
Not really convinced of the Magnatec magic anyway, just wanted a half-decent oil for a sensible price.

Agree is odd doesn't mention synthetic, would expect it to be but might be a false assumption from me.
I'm not sure why but the world seems to be heading to simplified graphics etc at the moment - look at VW's latest emblem, just looks cheap and naff to my eyes!

And indeed Citroen too:
The latest of both looks a backwards step to me

Agree, the new VW logo just looks like a crap hand-drawn version of the old one. Change for the sake of change, some logo company would have charged them a wad for that load of rubbish.
There was a time about 10-15 years ago when smartphones were becoming a thing, when basic flat non-3D non-shaded logos made some sense, as screens just weren't capable of showing a more detailed image. But now, I don't get it - it's like the car companies are doing what the tech companies were doing back then, with a massive lag.
In 2019, google simplified its Android logo...

This year, it's changed to a 3D logo, like the car companies had until they all decided to ruin them...

Give it another decade, the car companies will catch up and revert to their 2000s logos.
