DS7 Crossback - Breakdown with 9000 km !!!

Post by TLC_Media »

Yesterday i had my worst experience with a car company ever :

My DS7 Crossback : The red wrench showed up on the display and the Message "Energy Fault - Repair Needed" !
The car wasn't able to drive properly, sometimes a little bit with reduced power, sometimes not.

Around lunch time i talked to DS Assistance and help has been promised.
This first contact was very good, He promised help and so i waited for someone
to pull the car to the garage.
But no one came !
I tried to call DS again but they were not able to connect me to the person to which
i was talking before. Instead of helping, these guys have been rude and unfriendly !
I waited more hours and tried to call DS again, still no help.
Finally 6 hours later !!! I managed to be connected to the first guy ! He could help a little bit.
Finally no one showed up to pull the car but we could make it to the garage buy trying
to drive the broken car very slow.
We arrived a couple of minutes before they closed.
DS was not able to organise a rent car to be ready at the garage.
Instead we had to take a taxi to another city where we arrived at ADAC car rental.
I was not surprised that this guys where also not informed !

This is the worst service i ever heard of, sadly i had to experience it on my own !

Has someone experience on this Engine Fault and how long it will take to be fixed ?

Not without a fault code! I think you meant to type 'ENGINE' fault - repair needed instead of Energy. That can refer to hundreds of things so will need a diagnostic.

But in any case a pretty poor show for a new car and not a good advertisement for the supposedly 'premium' DS branding. Far too many electronic systems to go wrong -
"The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain" to quote Scotty. Thankfully it will be covered under warranty, but it will be interesting to let us know what it was in this case.

A bad show on the customer service front. I know when I accidentally hit my service emergency button on my C5 X7 a few years ago, they answered immediately and asked what the issue was and how the could help - just a shame they didn't follow through in your case.

UPDATE: The garage assigned by DS is not able to repair it. So they ordered to pull it to an other garage 46 km far away.
But it did not arrive there. For today it looks like it's lost !

Two days ago i received a call by the garage: "We have seen the error but we can not get the spare parts. We could reset the error and you can pick ups your car. It's fine."

A couple of minutes later: "Don't pick up your car the error is back again".

Who was it who claimed DS are a separate brand from Citroen ?
It seems they have the same customer service department that Citroen have. (well, maybe with a different phone line in to the same office. :) )

I'd have to question the dealership - surely they should have ran a diagnostic on it to confirm the error and if they are clueless should of contacted PSA in France for advice - unlikely to be an isolated error. Perhaps they have insufficiently trained technicians on this model being so new. Either way it does not inspire confidence for the driver / owner.

Keep at it and don't accept any brush-offs.
