renault clio problem

MY clio heater is not giving out any hot. I have even diconnected the hose's going into the heater matrix from the engine compartment.Then attached a hosepipe to the inlet of the matrix to see if it is blocked.I then got water coming out of the other pipe of the matrix.
So has anybody got any ideas what the problem is?
I have also flushed the system and still got no heat?

Are the hoses going to the matrix getting hot? Could the hot/cold mechanism be faulty and not allowing warm air into the car? Just some first thoughts....
