Xantia radio code input

Post by Rivendell »

Hi,
Can somebody tell me how to enter the code into a Blankpaut PH1-C radio ? Not sure if thats the actual model number but thats the number on the label. I've got a code to put in and I can get the code displayed on the screen, but then what ? I think I've messed it up so far cos the radio only displays the four dashes now, so I guess I have to wait for it to reset itself. Any ideas how long I need to wait or is there a way of resetting it ?
Cheers
Phil

On mine, after four incorrect attempts, when the four dashes come up, you need to leave it for one hour - but with the set switched on.

Cheers John,
Just checked on the blaupunkt website and found out the same. Any ideas which button I should press after entering the code, or should the radio just automatically accept the code ?

On my ZX radio (original) I had to wait over 4 hrs for it to 'wake up' again!! After entering the code I used the ^ up button on the square thingy on the left to lock the code in. :-) Its worked fine ever since.

Ok... so after wating an hour for the radio to 'wake up' and request the code again, I entered the code I was given, then pressed and held the 'AF' button, no effect, then tried pressing and holding the 'TA' button, no effect. Then tried pressing the top of the square button to the left of the display, and guess what ????????? It locked me out again AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH
Can somebody please advise me of the correct procedure to input the code ?
The radio is a BLAUPUNKT PH1/C model. Front features include 6 station preset buttons, 'red' code light on the left and a socket for CD input. The car is a '94 Xantia 2.0 LX.

Thanks for the responses and suggestions. I'll maybe give it a try tonight when I'm finished work.
I'll let you know the outcome. If anyone can mail me info on the button functions for this unit I would really appreciate it. I have the idea that tracking down a user guide to this thing will be like finding 'rocking horse sh*t'

It sounds like yours is the same as mine. If so, and you have found out how to get the code displayed, then pressing 6 ought to do the job like np suggests. Amazingly, I still have my user guide. What info are you looking for?

Audio 3030 rds.Buttons:-top,music symbol,geo,cps,dolby,
middle:-volume,tuning,display screen,fm.t,m.l,ta.
bottom:-code light,cd socket,on,mode,scan,memo,presets 1-6,af.
Is that the same as yours? If your code is 1234,you press preset 1 once, preset 2,press it twice etc then button 6 to enter. If the wrong code is entered, you get ---- and is locked for 1 sec.2nd attempt 5 secs,3rd attempt 1 hour. Then after each further attempt it locks for another hour,& so on.
That is from my hand book/user guide.I have all the ones for my car.
Try that, see if it works,if not..........

Cheers guys,
Seems like I've been given the wrong code from the breakers yard. i'm entering it as you suggest, but after pressing the '6' button it locks me out again. i think I've spent more time sittin in the car over the last few days than I have in my flat .... lol
Guess I'll have to contact the breakers again and verify the code they've given me.
If anyone wants to scan the relevant info pages and mail them to me I'd be most obliged. should do till I can locate a genuine user guide for the set.
Cheers,

Sorry, have no scaner. What was wrong with the old one?For proof of owner ship etc, most dealers can get the codes.Or,companys offer a unlocking service.Sometimes though, the cost can be more than a 2nd hand one.
I had the same last year on my wives Escort. No radio code.Went to the breakers, got 2 with the wrong codes.Made so much fuss,in the end they GAVE me one for free out of a Sierra!Didn`t have a code,so no probs.
If like most breakers, they make a fuss, just be polite & persistant.
Or have a look on Ebay,i saw one on there theother day.Search for Citroen.
Good luck, let us know the outcome.

Thanks anyway Neil. I'm gonna go back to the breakers and get them to check that the code they gave me is correct. If they can't supply me with the correct code then I'll either try a dealership or look for somebody local that can decode it for me.
At least know I know what the model number is, cos the buttons are as you stated earlier. Hopefully the unit will perform well enough to justify all the effort involved in getting the thing working.
Cheers,
Phil
