ZX tailgate struts

Both the struts on our 91 ZX have given up the fight. Andyspares list one from 92 on (N87712/3 fr). Does anyone know if this would fit or why not?

Hi Phil -
On the BX there was a mod on these strut's mountings - giving for different type struts around '85.
Could be the same situation with the ZX - but why not simply give GSF a call ?
They love speaking with customers [;)]

Ive got a pair of mint tailgate struts. Got most of a red 91 Volcan for that matter! Nick 0151 427 6312.
