Steering wheel C5 mk1, what fits?

My steering wheel looks tired on my car, have a cover on it from Mr steering the sort you stitch on.

That cover is now looking tired, was thinking of getting another cover like a grey and wood effect one but was wondering what steering wheels would fit my car?

Looks like the C8 is the same, not bothered if its a normal one from an LX but is hard to find a decent one.

Why do MK1 C5 Steering Wheels wear out? Mine feels rubbish & looks equally as naff as the meterial seems to have just worn away & gone bitty??

There is a guide to refurbishing C5 steering wheels that may be of interest.
I'm far to idle for that and will live with mine for the foreseeable future.

Give it a good clean with meths, rub down any damaged areas, then wipe on a few coats of acrylic paint using a foam pad.
Works just as well as the expensive refurb kits (suitable paint is available from Ryman at about a quid a bottle - other makes are available).

Would love to have ago at refurbishing my wheel.

Will look into materials and get whats needed.

When you say wipe on the paint, is that all that would be needed no top coat of gloss or something.

IME, the acrylic paint dries to a nice semi-matt finish, and is pretty hard wearing. You can always freshen it up every few months if necessary - it dries very quickly. Mine has lasted about a year so far.
If you do try it, you'll be amazed at the amount of sticky filth that comes off at the cleaning stage!

Emailed this chap and going to book in next week. Told me £65, seems a bargain to me, there is a pic in his gallery of a Range Rover which had the same problem with the steering wheel.
