Is it possible to....

Post by Bandit12 »

Hi Guys, While Ben82 had my C5 2.2hdi exclusive hooked up to the Lexia I asked him if he could disable the video player safety feature of cutting off at 6mph. We both went through all the obvious drop down options given but we were unssucessful.
All i wish to do is use this to hook up my MP3 to the audio ports only and play music while driving. A mate with an audi had the same problem but the dealer solved it in 20 minutes. Does anyone know of a way to to the same to my citroen?

Many thanks

Bandit

It's not wired to the handbrake, it uses the road speed info from the ABS system via the CAN network. I don't believe there is an option to turn this feature off, if there is then I've never found it.
I believe it's illegal for the screen to display anything other than navigational or vehicle information when the car is moving if its in view of the driver, so not really a legit reason for it to be switched off (although i understand you just want the audio side of it), I assume that's why it's not available I Lexia just like mileage adjustments etc.

Many thanks for your reply Wheeler. I kinda thought it might be something like that. You are correct in thinking I just want audio and if the screen is blank then I'm fine with it. As this is not an option do you know of any other way an MP3 can be hooked up to the standard citroen cd player/stereo?

Hi Mate, You can get a "Connects2" device, as an Aux Input (or if you have an iDevice there's one for that).

You will lose your ability to use the cd changer though under your seat, as it connects to the back of the stereo where the changer does.

Sunny still :) think we're still getting better weather here than Gravesend at least :)

Good to hear the car is behaving along with the spare key, I haven't used mine since pairing as for me its there for emergencies :)
