I haven't been able to access the DocBackup site lately.. since I upgraded to IE 8. Has anyone else got this problem or is it just me?

Thanks Gibbo, I think it might be a microsoft .Net problem after a recent upgrade.
Anyone know what version(S) of . Net DocBackup uses?
I've tried reinstalling .Net V1 and V1.1 but get the same IE cannot display the webpage.
Is the address http://127.0.0.1:6091/docbackup" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; still valid or has it been updated?

Thanks,
Chris

127.0.0.1 is called a loopback address. Useful when developing applications so that you can test them on your own machine.
If you used be able to access it through Port 6091 id guess there is no server socket on your PC responding to that port number.
In other words, You need to reinstall it if it is compatible with windoze 8

Having said that, can I have a copy? just for evaluation purposes obviously. Been looking for a wiring schematic for underneath a C8/807, eberspacher thingy specifically.

Edit: IE8 not Windows 8. Sorry, no idea why a browser update would stop it working.

Still struggling but I found a very useful "French" site with lots of downloads advice on the technical side of Diagbox Servicebox Lexia etc.

lesamisdudiag.com/peugeot-citroen/
You have to join and post to be able to view the download locations.. but even with my school french I can understand a good bit.
Hope this helps someone.

DocBackup just uses java, so no .net required. Have you got the Citroen icon in your systray near the clock? if it's solid red then it should be ready and the url should work... if it's flashing then it's still loading.

No Ben All I got was an out of date warning and then the icon dissapeared .. before I deleted the programe I should have remembered the infos file and tried that...but java does require .net 2.2...( It may have been down to a Java update to 10 and out of date Java elsewhere on the computer corrupting the new install...I've sorted all that out now,)however I'm now struggling with 2011 and not 2007 and hopefully I've got that sorted .. fingers crossed .. thanks to the french website. I just need some time (3hrs) to load the programe again.
Thanks for the advice though,
Chris

Don't worry Chris, you're not alone. DocBackup is one of the biggest piles of *** when it comes to installing it.

No matter what I've tried the Sedre (wiring diagrams) part of the installation fails on my laptop (no errors, it just gets stuck and never makes any progress) - which has a fresh installation of Windows XP SP2 with the only installed application being Diagbox/Lexia! On my Windows XP desktop which has a several year old install of windows with a ton of junk installed DocBackup and Sedre both install fine. Can't figure out why it won't work because it would be handy to have on the Lexia laptop down at the car instead of coming up to the house to look up and print stuff...

As is common with niche or vertical market applications, the installers (and often the apps themselves) are just pants and seem like they were programmed by a new intern.

Simon, from what I've read you have to kill off the "psaAgent.exe" process before installing DocBackup/Sedre. I have them installed on the same physical machine (Docbackup/Sedre is on the Host Win7, and Diagbox/Lexia is on a XP SP3 VM), so I didn't need to do that, but may help you?

Thanks Ben, I'll give that a try when I have time. As you probably know the installation process takes a VERY long time, especially on an older PC...

Just trying to install Docbackup / Sedre on a different machine running Windows 7 professional 32 bit and running into a few problems. (The latest version 052012 from a torrent linked from the auto-professionals website)

Sedre mostly works, I can look up a vehicle by manually selecting model etc and entering RPO number, however if I try to do a VIN number search I get:

"problem connecting to corvet".

But the main problem is I can't get Docbackup to work. The server loads (red icon on the task bar) but when the browser launches I get in various languages:

"A technical problem occurred.
Please retry to connect later."

Does anyone have any ideas ? Java is up to date, etc. The same machine also has Diagbox installed so I wonder if there could be a clash between the two ? (psagent.exe ? Doesn't seem to make any difference if I kill it)
