Xantia MK3 ??????????
Hi folks, just found these pics on Flickr, these are new to me, but someone may have seen or posted before, it looks like a Middle Eastern car show, i don't know how up to date the pics are , but is this what the Xantia MK3 may have ended up like if the C5 hadn't been introduced ???

Eurgh!
I don't like that. If that is the Xantia 'Mk3' then I'm glad the C5 was concieved. The Xantia looks fine the way it is!

Well yes although the headlights have been redesigned, that does not mean it's been worthwile, or for the better because that looks ugly given that the lights on cars are like the eyes of the car so to speak, it looks like it's squinting, and that someone has raided the Golf parts bin, and bodged them on with a soft roader front, including fog lights that look like an afterthought!
If that's what the front end looks like what have they done to the rear end, have they made an arse of it as well?

After typing the above I went on their web site, but the Xantia section won't open up while all their other "efforts" do!
For the future models they are offering what we currently get here, although what they would make them look like with their "gifted and skilled" design team makes you wonder what they would end up looking like!

They didn't make any changes to the rest of it - it's as you would expect it to be.ACTIVE8 wrote:If that's what the front end looks like what have they done to the rear end, have they made an arse of it as well?
I found some more photos (including side and rear shots) on some Iranian bloke's blog but I wasn't able to link to them...

They produce Citroens, Renaults, Kias and I believe Subarus.
The Mk3 Xantia is not yet listed on their official website, but the wellknown Mk2 is found as a 2006 model year.
May sound as weird mix, but then again their market potiential is huge alone in that part of the world.

A while back our MD bought himself a 630 and I went nosing on the BMW site to check them out (the older 640/650 was much better, IMO) and thought the site was rubbish, particularly in comparison to the Mercedes site, which was very well done and even had touches of humour in places.deian wrote:I cringe everytime I see it, or that company, or the website, any company who can't run a decent company website isn't worth a look.
If you look under future cars, they have their eye on the cit c4 and c5!
There wasn't an older 640/650, there was however the 8 series (E31) with the 4.0/4.4i V8 and the 5.0i V12, they would have been an 840i and 850csi etc.myglaren wrote: A while back our MD bought himself a 630 and I went nosing on the BMW site to check them out (the older 640/650 was much better, IMO)
The older 6 series (E24) is a classic now, there was a 630i of them, but not for long time, the usual one you will see is the 635csi, which had the chain driven 12v 6cyl 3.5i engine. Lovely stuff.
I'm comparing that Saipa website to the rest, it's horrid and basic with dead links in many places. But when it comes to bmw vs. merc, i'd go with the bavarians any day, regardless of website quality, which is in a different league to the saipa one.
