'93 Xantia 2.0 16V misfire

Post by Huwbruin »

Hi
I have a misfire on a 93 Xantia 16V (the early 155bhp engine with separate coils).
There is no spark at no 3 cylinder. The engine management auto diagnosis lamp is not lit.
I have changed the plugs - no spark
I have moved the coils around - still no spark.
So I'm presuming a wiring fault somewhere...(?)
Does anyone have any ideas or experience of this fault?
Thanks
John

early xantias suffered from ecu faults(eeprom faults).at my last count a few years ago citroen had updated its ecu eight times.
normally when a cylinder shuts down, ie:no feed to coil, norally it points to a component fault rather than a wiring fault.

Thanks for that.
Testing the ECU is beyond mt capabilities - I'll get the car along to my local friendly Cit specialist.
In the event it is the ECU does anyone have a good ECU for sale, or can anyone recommend a good ECU repair/exchange company?
