Same as Phil, about 500+ miles,40mpg average, though i have seen 600+ driving very gently.Mine did the same mpg before i had it boosted to 115bhp.I dont know how acurate the gauge is though,as i can get 130 miles with the light on.Handbook says the light comes on with aprox 7 litres of fuel left.I might get a few cans of fuel & just run it till it runs out to see.

If you want to get 78 litres (my record) into your tank, there is a small black button just below and to the left of the filler neck, hold it in whilst you are filling up and you will fit another 10 or more litres in,
Its there to stop you overfilling your tank by releasing an air pocket from the bottom of the tank when you put your fuel cap back on (the thread presses it in all the time the cap is on) thereby leaving about 10 litres of air space on top of the tank, this allows for expansion on a hot day, so dont go filling it up using the button method if your not about to a decent amount of miles otherwise you will either waste some fuel due to expansion or you'll blow your car up if some passer by is smoking !!

Modi, for the type of driving you are doing, 450 miles per tank is pretty good, your engine will rarely be getting fully warmed up so i dont think you could do any better,
99.9% of my miles are steady motorway cruising with no sudden acceleration or braking (if i can avoid it), on the odd occasion where i drive round towns i see my consumption shoot up
