Pickled Egg Jukebox-Your Selections

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

The FCF used to liken itself to the friendly atmosphere of a good pub, and there's none better than "The Pickled Egg" which appears once a month in a Magazine called "Cheers" which is distributed free in North-East Pubs. Its the work of Cluff (John Longstaff) and consistently makes me chuckle.

Here's a little selection-couple of "technology" observations

and a couple of random others

Had one of these today I like the "seasonal" brews some of them have excellent names! All available at the Pickled Egg!

Image

How about one from the Consett Ale Works......Santa's little Smelter or another one from the Mordue Brewery up here called "Howay in a Manger"

Strangely enough Sticky, I was perusing the pages of Viz today but was finding the printing must have become smaller than it used to be :) . I am going to have to head to poundland to get some proper glasses!

There's plenty from the Pickled Egg, the magazine's been going since 2010 so there's probably over 50 of them now, and thanks to back issues on line the majority of them are available.

Heres a few more

Well you might expect that the Pickled Egg would have a few "themed" events to stimulate trade

This was a bit of an experiment

You would also expect the Pickled Egg to have a regular quiz.

The Pickled Egg may occasionally send the boys round, to make you an offer you can't refuse

On the basic subject of the strip above, every Monday morning when it's bin day here and I walk to the pool I look at all the rubbish out waiting for collection and from that I can deduce a heck of a lot about the people who dwell within. I can certainly tell those that like a tipple and eat a lot of unhealthy stuff as our recycling bags are translucent pink and our glass recycling is in boxes just like in the strip above...

The amount of empty beer and wine bottles some houses chuck out on a weekly basis has to be seen to be believed...

I have very little glass to chuck out as most of my jars I keep for jam and marmalade production... The odd glass item I do chuck normally ends up in next door's recycling box...
