Firmware version

This unit is the RT4 and RT5 system and is made by Magneti Marelli
Main differences between RT4 & RT5 - RT5 has Bluetooth Hands Free, faster Navigation calculation and on C4 & C4 Picasso only, USB ports and a High-Res screen.

Firmware version

Post by bulkier »

Hello,
I have RT4 (viewtopic.php?p=798852#p798852) unit but I can not get information about Firmware version by holding "Menu" button!
If I hold Menu button for more than three seconds, I get only HELP menu and there is no information about Firmware version...

Is there some other way for checking firmware version?

Thank!

Hold the MENU button in for 10 seconds. You should see an option that says "Unit Description"
Select this, then you should see information about the firmware installed.

Ok, so slightly different on your system.

Go into Radio Telephone Diagnosis
Then select Unit Description

Take a screenshot for me and post it here.

Not sure how I miss menu "Radio Telephone Diagnosis"!? :D

I have 8.11.A-4

There are also bunch of other information if I keep clicking on OK:
Date 11/03/09
Not sure what is: 227d 16h39 (Navigation worked for 227days?)
and: HDD 4d 13h46

Ok so your Firmware version is 8.11

The last version available is 8.31. You can order this on a CD from your dealer for about £10 (UK), part number is: 9679242580 should you wish to upgrade, or if it's working fine, leave it as it is.

Is there any list of improvements (8.11 to 8.31)?
I read that latest Firmware fix some blank screen on RT4... so far I did not notice that I have black screens during drive, so I would not upgrade it if there is no new features in 8.31

I am not sure that official Peugeot dealer in Serbia can provide mi with CD but I can ask :D

Is there any tutorial how to physically replace harddrive in RT4 with CF card? I found only "software part" of this procedure but did not find how to physically disassemble and replace drive.

btw
Do you know what other date mean:
- 227d 16h39 (Navigation worked for 227days?)
- HDD 4d 13h46 (is this total play time)?

1) The firmware rarely provides new features, but for the RT4 it fixes the following issues:

Random rebooting of the unit.
Fixes the displaying of phone number instead of the contact name when on a call.
Fixes Speed cameras not being alerted.
Improves boot up time.
Fixes the boot up screen being stuck on occasions.

2) The CD is available from Peugeot or Citroen - this is the official part number, so can be ordered easily enough - and is still available.
3) I haven't done a tutorial on any replacement on an RT4. There's very little room in these to replace it with a CF card and adaptor.
4) Those are just stats and I can't advise on the correct interpretation of that info.
