C5 2.2 HDi VTX

Post by TonyMont »

I'm really hoping someone can help me with this. I have a leaking rear right hand suspension cylinder. My garage has taken the car for its MOT and it has failed. We have tried to get hold of a replacement cylinder (part No. 527271) but have got nowhere and been told that they aren't manufactured anymore. I have also tried to get a seal repair kit but again I have been told that these have also been discontinued. I have just spent quite a bit on the car, which I love, having the clutch replaced and the timing belt as that was due, yet this problem might be the sadly end of the road. Otherwise the car drives perfectly and has 168,000 miles on the clock which is testament to its high quality. Does anyone have any ideas?

:welc: and WHS ^^^ if the leak is at the back of the Cyl.
If leaking from the other end try here for seals https://www.eurocarcare.net/search/finder/73-203/ but you'll need to ensure you get the correct size as there are two... You'll also need a new gaiter and pin.
Failing that it's a replacement from a car being scrapped..
