Citroen C4 indicator/headlight cluster issue?!

Hi All.

I have a 2016 Citroen C4 1.6 HDIBlue, and the front left indicator has stopped working. Citroen are quoting over £600 for a new assembly. To essentially change a bulb! Please Can anyone help?.

I imagine it's an LED unit and there are 'no user serviceable parts inside'!! Getting one from a breaker seems like the best plan.

There are 3 possibilities of headlamp fitted: Discharge Bulb Type, Halogen Bulb Type or LED + Halogen Type.

Are any of those linked with a specific type of indicator bulb?

Yes, from what I can see...

Discharge Bulb Headlamp Type has a PY21W Orange Indicator Bulb
Halogen Bulb Headlamp Type has a H21W Bulb for indicator function
LED + Halogen Headlamp Type has neither - so assume this is the type the OP has, but VIN would confirm. This being the case, the complete Headlamp is showing a tad under £800 at today's prices.

Yeah it’s a LED + Halogen Headlamp . It’s a bit of a nightmare having to pay that much for a replacement indicator!

Indeed - it's the way of things - new tech at rip off prices things that are generally cheaper to make than standard lamps! It's all modular these days - plug in and replace the same way, and charge 4 times as much.

It was put together, so it may be possible to dismantle it, and replace the LED. There's a recent thread on here where XantiaV6 replaced the LEDs on a 308 CC rear cluster.

I doubt that will work at all, as these units are operated and controlled differently with different power requirements and software than the other types. You would be better initially looking for a second hand one from a breakers or on ebay.

We are able to repair the problem. The headlight needs to be dissasembled in order to be repaired. Problem is that we are situated in Bulgaria, and UK is outside EU, which will affect the repair cost drastically.
