Boxer 2018 water pump

Post by JonnyBell »

Hi. Looking for recommendations for an upgrade over stabdard/oem waterpump.

Im after one with a metal impeller (plastic ones known to fail for some). It's hard to find this listed in specs of most I've found online.

Anyone got first hand experience or share any links to one?

When i bought the timing belt kit which included and the water pump, i was thinking the same thing.
Unfortunately all the known "good" brands had the plastic impeller like Valeo or Gates. Finally i bought the OEM brand INA.
The only brand that i found with metal impeller, was GRAF PA1049 which was looking poor quality.
The other choice maybe the Continental CT1140WP2 with i think metal impeller.Just watch out if it fits on your vehicle.

Continental is for sure a good quality brand in timing belts and their accessories. Blue print is a known brand. To tell the truth, never used them. In my opinion is better to go on "safe zone" of Continental but be careful because it maybe confusing by many variants of the kit. In 3 cases i saw with plastic, cast iron and metal impeller. Good luck. :-D
