Citroen c5 mk3 2009 aftermarket in-dash sat nav compatibility

Post by Rares13 »

So i have a 2009 Citroen c5 with a sat nav. I went somewhere to wash my car and the guys that cleaned it ruined my sat nav......there is a green line in the middle of it. Im thinking of replacing it with one of those ebay aftermarket sat nav units that have touchscreen and all those shenanigans. however im not sure if its just plug and play. Would there be any compatibility issues?

Thanks

In short yes.

You can't just go plugging in anything and expect it to work. Depending on the system you have (again, as per your other post, we'll need a VIN) you may loose vehicle option functionality completely, so don't expect parking assistance to work or to be able to change options (system dependent), plus you will need harnesses and may loose controls of the steering wheel functions too.

A green line usually signifies the display screen has failed or the connection has been upset between the head unit and the screen. - What the heck did they clean the unit with - Battery acid? Is it possible they have got liquid spray into the head unit???

Dude i dont even know, had a big argument with them, its a green line in the middle of the sat nav, but i can see the writing and stuff still. Its like the colors changed in that area, and it slowly grows thicker and thicker

Ok, so a VIN will help in the meantime so I can determine exactly what you have.
