hdi air intake

Right, Ive not had a loook yet as the xsaras engine bay is rammed packed with stuff, my question is, how low is the air intake hose (going to air filter, then turbo then engine)? The reason for my asking is with my last turbo diesel i fell foul of some flood water and a low air intake (at the bottom of the bumper) which basically killed the engine (bent con rods, the lot) [:I] Is the Xsaras intake located so low? If so has anyone decided to re-route it?

Mark 1 or mark 2?
The mk 1 is at the top of the rad I believe, the mk 2 is right down behind the LH end of the bumper.

aya, its the mark one, I think they put them so low due the the colder denser air. I'd rather have mine higher up - less risk of numpty's like myself ruining their engine that way!
