I believe Chris has done all 16v owners a great favour with the pricing on his car with regard to their s/h values.
Not that they will ever be renown as great classics and demand very high prices, Std. or modified.
But certainly desirable, and great fun to drive.

Yukkk - reaching for sick-bag! [:(][:0] Do these people ever try to read their own descriptions? I am sure if this one did, he would get another hundred quid for it. I, for one, cannot be a**ed to plough through this gibberish trying to make some sense of it.

people who write their auctions in massive coloured letters really do wind me up. Then you have the ones who enter all the details wrong etc sigh

The BX was never exactly a silk purse
but this is certainly a sow's ear!
Why would anybody spend SM money on a BX?
Wonder what he wants for it. I reckon that he'll be disappointed.
I am always wary of
(Political correctness leaving now, with respect and consideration to dyslexic contributors,)
people who describe a car in such glowing terms yet cannot write in comprehensible English. I wouldn't buy a car from such a thicko!
This may be considered abusive but could he read the handbook, servicing instructions, correct grade on the petrol pump etc.?
If I were that illiterate, I'd get somebody to write the ad for me.
As for the specialist who "board" it out, I wouldn't use him either!

Hm, did anyone look at the £8.5k invoice carefully? It may be just me but when I did a postcode search on NN17 2EY it comes up with an address in Corby (about 40 miles away),not Brackley and the VAT number isn't valid either.............................................................
I was also amused to see that the engine was "Board out" to 2000cc and that "speedometre now reeds" plus other howlers on that big invoice.

I have never seen a steering wheel like it, it reminds me of the star wars arcade game (not computer, the actual 80's arcade game) - that had two red fire buttons like that on it as well. You would have difficulty with " 10 to 2 " driving on that steering wheel! What a fool.

Yes, that's been spotted on the 16V froum too, and much discussion has ensued!
Agreed, on the whole it's not going to be to many people's tastes, and the wheel and the scoop are particuarly 'unusual'
The ad is the worst one I have ever scene ritten.
But, the car does seem to have been looked after, and the bodywork is at least, on the surface at least, to be in good condition.
Agreed, the suspect receipts is also a worry - I believe someone has alreday mailed e-bay about it.

I see that Gavin has already emailed Ebay, which is just as well, as the more I check that invoice, the more that I see wrong with it, for example the 17.5% VAT figure on £7299.20 I make £1277.60, not £644.20. The incorrect VAT number and Postcode are also serious concerns. As for some of the parts listed, they are just a joke.
Getting back to the original topic [:)], the auction on Chris' 16v ended at £1850.00, impressive for a BX but below his reserve.

If you're going to forge a receipt it would be worth getting it at least close!
According to Streetmap.co.uk there is no Guildford Road in Brackley.... Where's the (presumably not insubstantial!) labour charge for removing / stripping / rebuilding / refitting the engine? It appeared to have a new crankshaft, so why £1500 for "lightening and balancing"[}:)]
But best of all "Board out to 2000cc" (like the spelling [:p]) - but isn't the 16V a wet liner engine, and therefore CANNOT be bored out[?][8)]
Anybody near enough to go and put the guy out of his misery...??
No bids yet I see [B)]

Ive seen 2.1 litre ones. I guess the only way is a longer stroke due to not being able to bore it out?
Jon isnt the vat 1.175* 7299.20 which is 8576.56 so closer but still not quite right. Fact the address etc is wrong shocks me. Also £500 on a full paddle clutch? Nonsense, the paddle clutch plate in my visa was £110 and a new cover would only have been £100. £211 on ht leads? are they made of raw diamonds heh

I like the way he has crumpled up the receipts a bit to make them look more genuine. Quite amusing![:D] Not for the person who ends up buying it though.[:(!]
