I have noticed a lot of oil on the floor of the garage, so i put a clean peice of cardboard under the car, bearing in mind that the car has not been used for about a week there was quite a bit of oil on the cardboard the next day. I had a good look under there today and it seems to be coming from the sump gasket. My first question is, "is there a gasket or is it bonded with silicone? next question is, "that if the car has not been used then surely all the oil is in the sump and not around the sump gasket or am i wrong?
Any suggestions?
Thanks Louis

You're right. If the car has been standing for a week, the oil can't be leaking from the sump gasket. I would 'gunk' the engine - getting it clean and dry. Start the engine, then look for the leak. Obviously, if the leak is on the rocker cover for instance, the oil will run down and drip off the sump.
