peugeot 508 no heating

I had a Saab seat heater that stopped working. One of the element wires on the seat base heating pad had broken. When it went it was obvious where since it burnt a hole in the seat cover and my trousers. I did a bodge repair with a connector block to join the wires together.

Led Zep you misunderstood me. I fixed the heating. I flushed the system. I filled the system with distilled water and added a radiator cleaner. I drained the water after flushing, then I poured the entire system with a garden hose. Then I poured new coolant into the system until clean coolant ran out. I bled the cooling system and now everything works. The problem was with the seat heating. Pawe?C5 thanks for the tip, I just don't know if it's a coincidence that the seat stopped heating or maybe, like in previous models, there is a known fault in the form of a burnt pin. I checked the bones under the seat, they look ok and when I drove home after buying it, the seat heating was definitely working.

O.k. I didn't knew that there was a problem also with heating seat.Start from the simple ones. Fuses, maybe relay if there is any, but usually is the seat element wires as PaulC5 said.I had same experience in my wife's car.

unfortunately my garage is a bit too small for a Peugeot 508 but the backrest heating works only the seat does not. on the passenger side everything works but I have the impression that the backrest is not heated enough. now I will be working at work for the afternoon maybe I will find a moment to look closely at the seat installation.

So it is not a matter of safe or relay otherwise nothing would work.My bet is on heating element and wires of it but check the cables and the continuity of switch.

This one.It is a kind of rheostat.Check contacts and wiring.But almost sure the problem must be in wiring on seat element.

So it is different type from mine.Somehow you must check right operation, contacts and continuity of switch.Maybe it's broken having current issues and not enough current pass through.The other guess is that the electrical circuit, wiring from there to heat element and it's contacts itself in seat, is faulty. Not an easy task. A tester multimeter is needed.
