Hi Andy - that's the self-test that happens on switching on the headlamps. If at any time there is a fault detected, they'll revert back to dead ahead function with no directional operation and you'll get the flashing dipped lamp on the dash.
This can be because of a faulty height corrector - which if rusty or jamming will cause the ECU to trigger backup mode as above.
We really could do with a fault code, which should be stored, so if you have a decent diagnostic kit like Lexia / Diagbox, let me have those.

I've now merged the other thread under Diagnostics too - please don't create multiple threads for the same issue, as it duplicates answers and creates more work for us. Thanks.Para25 wrote: 20 Feb 2025, 00:21 Thanks, I was just repeating the post in a different thread to try and get more responses

Thanks Marc, apologies didn't realise causing more work. Went on the adage that more threads more answers lol.
I'll get it to someone who can read the system as I only have a basic obd reader!!
I was hoping that the possible fuse box being a possible cause for main beam fault might of been related to the newer issues.
The rear height sensor linkage is snapped, the sensor arm is free and positioned in the normal no load position. Couldn't find a front sensor!!
I'll update with codes asap, cheers for your help

If the sensors are not sending data or are sending data way out of scope this can trigger a fault and the same will happen.
Sensors are shown at (6) & (7):
