Improved Diesel Starting
After checking the glow plugs and battery are OK, I believe one of the main reasons a diesel don't start well is due to a warped fuel filter housing. The plastic housing will warp if the bottom metal piece is too hot, the car have overheated or its just too long exposed to the engine heat. Once warped the joints will have hairline air leaks into the fuel system. I took out mine and checked it, can see the warp edges clearly. Use a flat file to file down the bottom as flat as possible. Used high temperature silicone sealant to seal the bottom outer edges and also the outside of the inlet valve which was also leaking diesel after I cleaned it. Could consider using liquid gasket to seal the edges as silicone may not last if immersed in diesel constantly. Now my starting is instant but of course, in warm weather. Try it out to see if there's any improvement.
