I read in an older thread on here about a 1.6HDi owner who saw a really notable improvement in efficiency after they cleaned their intercooler.
Are there any tell-tale signs with this engine that the intercooler isn't working as well as it could be?

If its got oil in it wont help cool the air the turbo system needs . I clean mine every year. It does make a differnce.
