2017 DS4 2.0hdi undertray

Post by DeuxChevaux »

I need an undertray for a 2017 DS4 2.0hdi which is missing on my new car (always been main dealer serviced!). I see that the correct part number is 7013xz which I am finding very difficult to find other than new at £180. I have replaced several of these on other cars with ebay types but all those I can find are based on 7013ec or 7013ct undertrays. No, I don't know what the difference is, it may only be the amount of insulation on the tray???
The bottom line - has anyone got a second hand one - or does anyone know of a cheap supplier - or does anyone know if the cheaper ones are compatible?

They will differ based on size and fittings and for petrol and diesel engines and additionally are a different design between them and are not interchangeable.

Also, your pricing is a bit out of date, as new, these are £387 (UK) inc. VAT from DS as of today.

Thank you Marc, the price I got today from an independant dealer. I might look at making my own at that price from DS! The main dealer I bought the car from says they were a free option when new and obviously the first owner didn't specify a free undertray.. er!!?

Edit - I am trying one of the cheaper ebay undertrays at £23 to see if I can make it fit. I'll update when I succeed/fail for others in the same situation

One thing the 'manager' at the main dealer has had passed onto me is something that sounds far fetched. ie When my car was sold the undertray was a free option and obviously the first owner didn't specify the undertray.
Can anyone positively either confirm or otherwise his comment?

Never heard of that one before.

What I have heard is that PSA will often set an after-sales flag on a customer's vehicle to remind the dealership to discuss with the customer that the vehicle in its current state is not suitable for off-road use and if the customer is intending to use it in those conditions, then they need to discus a suitable undertray option for protection. But that would be a chargeable option not a freebie.

That makes sense since I do know they do a metal undertray. Thanks very much Marc

If anyone else need the £347 DS4 undertray for n2017 DS4's then I have found that the n£23 Ebay verssion fits although they do not claim it will fit - They claim 7013ec and 7013ct compatability but it will fit where 7013xz is specified by DS

This baffles me, I thought manufacturers fitted undertrays to help under-car airflow to help with fuel economy, noise and general emissions!
So I personally think the manger is not telling the truth and it has been left off after a service.

They're there for engine and gearbox protection. Some of the other covers are for air flow and drying the brake discs.

Thanks for the comments. The car DID have an undertray judging by the damaged fittings, some angle ground off some just damaged. This is the fifth car I have had with a full MAIN dealer service history where the undertray is missing. My wifes DS3 had had 4 main dealer services and at only 16800 miles from new at 3 years old it was missing.(All Robins and Day). I think Stu is fully correct

I would put some grease on the undertray fixings, otherwise in a year when they have rusted and seized, you will then be causing damage as you try to undo them to change the oil. This is probably the reason undertrays are not put back at a garage when serviced. I greased them on our 308 before the first service but once back from servicing oil drips appeared on our drive. They had dripped a bit of oil on the undertray which had got under its heat shield so could not be wiped off but it kept dripping out. In the end I removed it and managed to flush/clean it with carb cleaner spray which was quicker than taking it back. I now remove the undertray before a service.

Exactly what I do PaulC5. I actually use a waterproof marine grease (I have a tin left over from when I had a yacht). I really can't understand why the 'technicians' at many main dealers do not grease or oil the bolts/nuts as they go back on. Surely it would make life easier for them at next service time. I agree with you, on the rare occasion anyone else works on my car the valuable piece of plastic will be removed before they get/lose it.
