You understand that you can't clear faults if the underlying problem is still present? You need to investigate the fault first, so to do that you will first need to provide your VIN. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff. I'll take a look once I know your specific vehicle details and systems.

The are 2 possible versions of Engine ECU that you may have - either MEVD17.4 or MEDV17.4.2

The fault codes below are only relevant if you have the MEDV17.4.2 version
Fault Code: P1005
Description of Fault: Variable valve lift position sensor signal: Short-circuit to the battery plus or open circuit.
Variable valve lift position sensor: Open circuit or short circuit to Battery positive.
Conditions of activation of the diagnostics
- Engine management ECU in main triggering phase
- Detection after triggering
Conditions for Fault to clear:
  • The fault disappears after more than 10 ms without any error
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active:
  • Change to butterfly mode
Symptoms:
  • Excessive fuel consumption
Suspect Areas:
  • Variable valve lift position sensor
  • Electrical harness
  • Engine ECU

Fault Code: P2685
Description of Fault: Sensors 5 volt supply: Invalid voltage on the regulator 3. Detection of a supply error on sensors n° 3.
Conditions of activation of the diagnostics
At least one of the following conditions must be fulfilled:
- Engine ECU in partial triggering phase or in main triggering phase or in dormant phase
- Active all the time
Conditions for Fault to clear:
  • Supply voltage correct
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active:
  • Warning lamp MIL
Symptoms:
  • Refer to the other faults appearing at the same time to become aware of the customer complaints
Suspect Areas:
  • Engine ECU
  • Variable valve lift motor
  • Electrical harness
