Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Again - you may have a certificate issue - you need to contact your dealer and complain - they will pass back to Head Office and hopefully correct certificate.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
I've just got a 2019 C5 AirCross with System Version 31.09.46.62_NAC-r0, dated 2018-11-17. Have spent much time this weekend using the official Citroen Update App on both a Windows PC and a Mac with multiple USB sticks to try and upgrade my car to the recommended version specified by the the app, which is 42.03.33.42_NAC-r0. Every time I tried I would get the "Version not compatible with hardware" message. And now I find out the problem is not on my end but that the license file supplied in the download had expired on 2024-11-03. Unbelievable.
Not yet familiar enough with the car but is it possible to set the date on the car? If so, has anyone tried changing the date in the car to before that expiry date of the license and then trying to update again?

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Please see previous messages regarding this issue.
Citroen have an issue at their end where they released firmware updates with expired certificates (separate you your unique vehicle certificate - this was their main firmware generation certificate).
The software they use to generate the firmware, the certificate expired, so it's been creating invalid firmware updates that are unusable.
Citroen/Peugeot/PSA are aware of the issue and have been working to fix it.
They managed to resolve the certificate issue at their end a week or so ago and have been regenerating the firmware updates across their whole server range as it affected ALL firmware across all vehicles as the firmware they had been releasing was all only valid until around 4th November 2024.
They've said it could take a month to update their whole server and regenerate the firmware. It's a rolling fix.
Some firmware have been fixed and is now working, but a lot still hasn't been updated with the fix yet.
Keep trying once a week.
You'd need to re-download the update each time you try, if the current firmware you have says 'incompatible' then delete it, it will never work because it's been compiled wrong.
If you can't wait, then suggest contacting your local Citroen/Peugeot dealer and they will raise the issue with their IT for your vehicle and it may speed up the fix rollout to your required firmware model.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
It’s not that easy and the date on the head unit display won’t make any difference. It needs a digitally signed certificate that only PSA or their affiliates can provide.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Good evening everybody, many apologies for jumping straight in with a question but has anybody experienced issues with updating firmware and mapping?
My 2019 1.6 225 ultra prestige just won’t allow any update what so ever! I’ve even been down to the dealer and they couldn’t get either to upload!
They have raised it with DS technical in France, and have said they will need my car for the whole day as nobody knows what the issue is…oh and there is a £132 charge
Has anybody experienced this and does anybody have a solution?

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
It's because the certificates have expired - the firmware it is trying to install was itself released around June 2021, so is already 4 years old, and you will have an earlier firmware installed. Since then, there have been 5 later versions, with the latest for this Wave 4 system on 44.07.33.32_NAC-R0 (August 2023).
After a certain time the firmware certificates that authorise installation become out of date, so they won't install. There's a few like this and you usually have to wait until they re-sign and update the certificates. Hopefully the garage has advised technical staff of this - like others.
If you have the VIN, I can provide you with the file for the version it is trying to install and the latest version if you like. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
This is a NAC Wave 3 (ecuType = NAC_EUR_WAVE3) infotainment system that needs to install the firmware version 42.03.33.42_NAC-r0 first (but for the NAC_EUR_WAVE3), which converts it to a NAC Wave 4. Only after that is it possible to install the NAC_EUR_WAVE4 firmware or the P6CNS format (for EUR_NAC_WAVE4) maps/cartography. It is pointless to try to install the 44.07.33.32_NAC-r0 firmware version directly, which is only compatible with the NAC_EUR_WAVE4 (see "EcuCompatibilityList" in the "UpdateInfo.xml" file).
Notice there are 2 different 42.03.33.42_NAC-r0 firmware versions, one only for NAC_EUR_WAVE3 systems with the UpdateID 001315031622734386, and another for the NAC_EUR_WAVE4 with the UpdateID 001315031622725679.
But yes, the problem is the expired signing certificate used in all the NAC_EUR_WAVE3 firmware. And quite frankly, PSA/Stellantis doesn't care about this or the firmware for the NAC_EUR_WAVE1 systems anymore, both impossible to install in the last couple of years. At least the NAC_EUR_WAVE1 still has map updates.
Unless the head unit is connected in a workbench, I'm afraid it is impossible to install any firmware in a NAC Wave 3 system.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
@Bartek2308:
OK, so yours is a Wave 3 unit and needs the bridging firmware I've mentioned in previous posts. This will take it to Wave 4 software.
Again, there may be a certificate issue with the firmware, as you'll currently have at the very latest, 2018 firmware on your vehicle - so that's been 7 years since it's been updated.
So the files may have expired, and the reason why you can't update the system.
In case they have released an update, I'll provide the files and licence info below which you can try. There are no guarantees and if it will not install, then you need to contact your dealership and complain.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Yes, but you may encounter the same problem as others, namely that as this has been so long since released, the certificate may be out of date, so you may not be able to install the bridging Firmware. The latest files from the server are below, but if it does not work, you'll know why and will need to complain to your dealership so they can make a report to put pressure on them to release an update and re-sign the firmware.Dani1503 wrote: 10 Feb 2025, 22:29 Hey Marc

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Hello. I come here with the same problem as others, namely the My Peugeot application displays a radio update for me. After downloading it to a pendrive and inserting it into the car, there is a message that the version is not compatible with the hardware. I called the Peugeot service and they want me to come, connect a computer and supposedly help for PLN 760. And I heard that they damaged the radio of one person in this way and did not feel guilty. I am attaching a photo of the radio version and I would like to ask for help in updating because I have everything from 2018. My car is a Peugeot 508.
