Hello everyone, hello from Greece. I am new here. So 5 days ago i bought a used C5 Aircross, first license is 11/2019. Car was driven by a Nerthelands citizen. When i got the car maps was in version 14, i managed to updated them to version 17. However the firmware is in version 42, i've downloaded the newest one from Citroen program for Windows which is version 44.06.44.22_NAC-r0. The thing is that i got a message that says "Update is not compatible with hardware".

I've read a lot of things in this forum, so here is what i tried:
1.Normal process, failed (update is not compatible with hardware)
2.Normal process, but this time i inserted the usb stick when i was in "view info" for the current firmware version. Same resault as no.1
3.Connected the car to wi-fi on to my phone (mobile hotspot), failed again.

I've also found that webpage " https://github.com/ludwig-v/psa-nac-fir ... me-ov-file" with all versions of firmware for manual download. I downloaded the version Citronen suggests for my car, but i didn't proceed to any action. My USB still has the mounted version from Citroen's Windows program.

P.S. somewhere i read that SOS button on the roof of the car should be green for 2-3 seconds when engine starts. Mine is reddish, then goes off.

My VIN is: VR7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Any help would be nice. Thank's beforehand.

I can't help you regarding the materials on GitHub - that is not something we will deal with here and I suggest you don't attempt to install anything unless you know how to use them and what you are doing.

In most cases the firmware certificates are out of date so may be causing an issue in installing older firmware - so you should contact your dealer and get them to register an issue about this - the more people that do this the more likely PSA will fix it in an updated release.

I can only provide you with the firmware directly and your licence file (in case your WiFi connection is not authorising the firmware to be installed). This can happen in some countries where the connection is restricted or has issues - or if you are having an issue with your independent telematic unit's connection to the servers.

Firmware Version 44.06.44.22_NAC-r0

I've uploaded a new working version of the firmware for WAVE2;

Firmware 21.08.90.52_NAC-r0

Extract the contents to the root of a USB and you're good to go.
*DISCONNECT WIFI IN YOUR VEHICLE - AS THIS IS PRE-REGISTERED*
Do not modify or add any custom files as this could render it invalid.
It is already set up to work as it is.
Just extra to USB and plug in.

The certificate on the MyCitron app version expired on 4th Nov and hasn't been useable since.
The fixed it and added a new certificate at end of December but they've not released the newer certificate version on the app yet.
You can download the new fixed working version from the link above.

I wonder if it would help any of us Wave 3 users to turn off wifi, set the time and date to when the update came out and then update with the offline licence file?

Doesn't work for me, although I have the same (WAVE2) system.

What error are you getting when running the update I've provided above?

The contents (1 file and a folder) should be placed on the root of a USB that's formatted to FAT32.
Do not modify it or add your own custom certificate.
It is already set up to work as it is. Any modification could render it invalid.

When inserting media it will initially say no music media found on device (because it initially checks for MP3 songs.
After a few more seconds it will ask if you want to update, and give the warnings about turning eco mode off during the update and do not drive whilst updating.

I have run this update on a vehicle this morning and it updated perfectly fine, it took about 20 minutes for the update to complete on a 2017 C4 Picasso Flair.

Worth a try.
The updates originally worked up until the date the certificate on them expired. So if you can set the date backwards then this may work.

Hi everyone,
I’m struggling with updating the Continental NAC EUR Wave 2 head unit in my 2018 Citroën Grand Picasso VIN: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. I keep encountering an error about version incompatibility with the hardware. Error message: "version not compatible with hardware".
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Used 3 different USB drives and an SSD.
Formatted them in FAT32 using various methods.
Used the official Citroën Update utility to create the USB drive for updates.
Also tried manually creating the update USB by generating licenses using the link:
Majestic License Generator (replacing the UIN with mine, extracted from the head unit). https://majestic-web.mpsa.com/mjf00-web ... D4EA9DBFB8
Downloaded firmware files from this source https://sites.google.com/view/nac-rcc/system/nac/wave-2
Tested multiple firmware versions.
Shared internet with the head unit via Wi-Fi during attempts.
Despite all this, I’m still facing the same error. The current firmware version installed is 21.06.47.34_NAC-r0.

Has anyone successfully updated this head unit or dealt with a similar issue? Any guidance on resolving this would be greatly appreciated!

@GiveMeABreak
Marc, I see you’re helping everyone here with license generation. It’s possible that the license I’m generating using my methods is somehow incorrect. Could you please help me with generating it? I’ve left my VIN in the message. Thank you so much in advance!

Obviously I had to try, but sadly it didn't work for me. I tried july 2021, january 2022 and a few dates in 2023 and 2024. None of them worked.

DO NOT use any license generation or modify it - It's already set up to work as it is.

Just extract and plug in.

So, does this mean that this version needs to be installed without a license and without Wi-Fi connected?
Alright, thank you! I’ll try to do it
