Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
So there you are, then, if you've tried with the licence file and it still refuses, then the certificate is likely invalid, as I mentioned.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
I have now contacted citroen, hopefully they can help. Maybe I'm a pessimist, but I don't think they'll be able to help anyway. Thank's for your help!

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
They won't be able to help you directly as they have no control over the telematics software. I just suggested you contacted them to complain, so they can add you to the number of people globally that this is affecting and hopefully the feedback to Citroen will trigger them to do something about it at a global level.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Because of the expired certificates, is it not possible to continuously install newer software with older firmwares, even several times? my current software version is 21.05.68.24_NAC-r0

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Hey Marc,
Thanks for sending all the information/files through. I've followed the instructions and added the firmware and license files in this structure to a usb stick:
|-UpdateInfo.xml
|-SWL
|-->firmware file contents
|-license
|-->license_0D01050B71D4E6B33784_001315031613548831-3.key
is this the correct folder structure?
I've tried it in this configuration but I'm still getting "Version not compatible with hardware". Is there an earlier version I can try or do I need to take it to Citroen for them to install the update?
Many thanks
Adam

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
I tried updating our 2019 508 last night with the MyPeugeot app, but it keeps complaining about the hardware not being compatible. It's still on its original firmware. The app suggests updating to 42.03.33.42_NAC-r0, which I think should upgrade it to a Wave 4 system. It does seem to generate a correct file and folder structure on the USB drive (similar to the structure posted above), but I don't get the UpdateInfo.xml file. It's got a wifi connection. Any suggestions? The VIN is VR3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].
I can't: it's still on the latest version of Wave 3, so map updates aren't supported anymore unless I update the firmware to Wave 4. The official update is a so-called "combined update" which includes both firmware and maps from 2021. I imagine I could probably update to later versions once that's been installed.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
What newer software? The firmware is the software so it is the firmware software that has digital certificates to authorise installation by the Head Unit. If the certificate is invalid or expired you can't install that version of firmware (even if reinstalling the same version - as you will have the same problem), but PSA do NOT recommend installing the same version of firmware again in any case.s3rious wrote: 02 Jan 2025, 16:03 Because of the expired certificates, is it not possible to continuously install newer software with older firmwares, even several times? my current software version is 21.05.68.24_NAC-r0
You can continue to install maps without issue, so I would forget the firmware for now as if it's working, leave it alone.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Nothing you can do at present - it's the same problem as everyone else - see the other recent posts. Until Citroen re-sign the certificates you won't be able to install it.krio1987 wrote: 02 Jan 2025, 16:18 Hey Marc,

I've merged your posts together - my response was intended for another member, but for some reason I hadn't quoted their post, so it wasn't meant to be in answer to your post.SterkeYerke wrote: 03 Jan 2025, 18:12 I tried updating our 2019 508 last night with the MyPeugeot app, but it keeps complaining about the hardware not being compatible. Yes you have a Wave 3 system and these have a bridging firmware to upgrade them to Wave 4. There are others who have had issues with the updates, as the App will only provide the latest update and the map file combined. Later they reverted back to separate firmware and map updates once you are on Wave 4 Firmware.
The firmware you are being offered (42.03.33.42_NAC-r0) is the last one for Wave 3 units which is then bridged to Wave 4.
There's nothing I can do to help if it won't install, but I can provide the links here including the licence file - although I appreciate your vehicle has on-board WiFi for authorisation. Sometimes it can work using the licence file method.
Firmware and Map Combo Version 42.03.33.42_NAC-r0
SterkeYerke Licence File
Instructions for Updating NAC or RCC Firmware, Maps & Licences
If it continues to fail to update, try a BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure first and leave the battery disconnected for 10 minutes at least instead of the timing in the procedure, to try and clear down the telematics Unit. When you've reconnected everything, try and install again.
If that fails, then you'll need to complain to your dealer / Peugeot Head Office and tell them that the firmware files need re-signing as they are no longer installing and you cannot update your system with maps of firmware - this is their fault.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Thanks a lot @GiveMeABreak! Sadly it didn't work: the car's giving the exact same error. I already tried a BSI reset, but it didn't help either. It did go into eco mode very quickly after reconnecting the battery though, so it's probably time for a new one.
Anyway, our car's still under warranty from the garage we got it from a few weeks ago, so I guess it'll be their problem. They specifically told us that free map updates were available and installable by the end users themselves, so they're not getting away with claiming the latest maps are as old as the car
. I would've preferred to do the update without having to go to the garage though.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Maps are free for life, but warranty or no warranty - if it's down to the firmware certificate signing being invalid, no garage or dealer will be able to sort it for you - it's the people that provide the firmware that need to sort it.
