Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
I've included both Russia and Europe Maps as I don't know which if any of these you require. Follow the instruction to update the firmware first. I have also included the specific vehicle licence for the firmware for this vehicle - which, although your vehicle has WiFi to authorise the firmware update, some people have had issues with connection to PSA in some countries, so you can use the licence file and extract it according to the folder (and correct naming of the folder) included in the instructions in the link below.

Unable to update touch screen software.
I have a 66 plate c4 grand Picasso (mk2). I’ve been having issues where the touch screen restarts on it down, then says module charging when I try to use features. It eventually comes back on, but usually happens at least twice per journey. So I don’t thought I would start by upgrading to software. The software hasn’t been updated since 2018. It says the current version installed is 5.15.29.42-r0
I’ve tried to download the latest version from the Citroen website based on my vin number. It downloads successfully and copies across to a usb drive fine.
However, when I insert the drive into the car it says that the software is “..not compatible with the hardware”. This seems odd since it should be giving me the software that matches my vehicle based on the vin number I provided.
The only thing I can assume is that the software currently installed is so out of date, that I need to do an incremental upgrade of some kind, but I can only download the newest version, so can’t prove that theory,
Any thoughts on how I can sort this out would be much appreciated. I don’t really want to go to my local Citroen directly since their diagnostic charge is £140+vat. Which seems silly to pay, since they have the facility to download and install it myself for free, if I can just get it to work.
Any help would be awesome, thanks
Adam

Hi Adam, before I can advise you, I'll first need to check your exact system - please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Ok, so I know what the issue is Adam. If you read some of the recent posts you'll see the problem is with invalid certificates for the Firmware. You have a Wave 2 unit, and the last firmware was released in 2022 for this vehicle, so you firmware is well out of date and is probably the original.
The problem you will now have is that the firmware is digitally signed by Citroen, so when the certificates expire, the firmware will not install.
So you can try and install the last-but-one version as there is a problem with the latest one for sure -
Firmware Version 21.08.87.32_NAC-r1
krio1987 Licence File
Map Version 28

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
You can try and manually update, but there are issues with the certificate signing on this firmware, so may not install. If it won't install, you'll have to contact Citroen and complain - they will need to update the digital certificate dates and re-sign them before they'll install. This is because the certificates for the firmware may have expired (too long in updating since the firmware release - which was February 2021 when this was released).

You have on-board WiFi, but here is the licence file in case that is not working in Turkey - make sure you follow the notes in the last link to correctly name the licence folder!

Just a follow on question, since one of the issues I've got with the head unit is that it will randomly restart, is that likely to cause me an issue with the update process. If yes, is there anything you can think of to mitigate?
Many thanks

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
I can't sorry, as PSA don't provide a list of 'change' logs, but just make sure you keep the engine running. At this stage I suspect there's not much you can do in any case, so updating the firmware (if it allows you to do so) may fix the problem or may not - as it depends on whether the restart fault is hardware related or software related. If you can install the updated firmware this may resolve a software issue - but if not, then it may well be the internal flash memory that's faulty. This may then require a repair or replacement.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Hi, yes, so the same problem is likely going to affect you. Here are the files, but if the firmware does not authorise installation, you'll know why - bug your dealer to get Citroen to re-sign the firmware certificate files.
