It is a distinct possibility as there were 2 '31' versions, 31.08.05.86_NAC-r0 (May 2018) and 31.09.46.62_NAC-r0 (Nov 2018), so it is possible that the certificates have expires. Your issue is that that you may of needed one of these earlier versions to bridge the firmware from Wave 3 to Wave 4. The following is the latest update, but contains the map as well, so is a large download.

cytryna wrote: 11 Dec 2024, 11:59 Hi,

I have a problem updating my system, no version fits, I download through Citroen Update along with the license, I download from https://sites.google.com/view/nac-rcc/system/nac/wave-3, the car is connected to wifi, every time it pops up "Version not compatible with the hardware". I have no more ideas. the pendrive is detected every time because you can upload the configuration to it from the radio.

It may be like the other person above that I responded to - an expired certificate issue, as the '31' versions are from 2018 - nearly 7 years old, so haven't been updated since then. The latest version was out June 2021, so is still nearly 4 years old.

This is a Wave 2 version and we know the certificates have expired on this version, so until PSA re-sign them, you may be stuck....

@mirceboy:

I've moved your post to the relevant Forum - please see recent posts - you have a Wave 2 system and at present you won't be able to update it as the certificates have expired (too long in updating after firmware was released), so until PSA renew the certificates, the unit will not authorise the firmware update. You should be able to update your maps though.

Hi @GiveMeABreak

My 17 Reg C4 Grand Picasso currently has version 21.08.90.52_NAC-r0 with no updates on Citroen Update software. Since this version was released on 03/10/2022, I just wanted to be sure whether this is absolutely the latest version I can have or if I can install anything newer. I am not sure whether I also have a Wave 2 system as mentioned above.

My VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

I thank you very much in advance for your support and wish you a happy Christmas.

The map of your GPS

Update available (17.0.0-r0)

I have a C4 Shine automatic 155bhp 2021 plate.

The screen is up to date.

I have tried different USB sticks starting at 32 up to 256GB ranging from between £10 - 50 formatted with FAT32 using Citroen application via MacBook Air. I even tried EX-FAT as a desperate alternative.

Prior to this update I had some success and was able to complete the process 3 times although it was still a bit back & forth. Alas, this 1 has left me a broken man lol.

Citroen want £175+ for an hours diagnostics and even then they cannot guarantee it. Use Waze or Google Maps the dealership said. Save yourself all the trouble.

I've heard people say use the WINDOWS system and maybe I will. However what an absolute PITA this is turning out to be.

It's 17GB this time round with most of it unnecessary as I'm after mainly the UK updates. Is it a necessity I really don't know. Probably not BUT I can't let it go just yet.

Fair play to the guys sticking with it and I tip my hat to those offering such great support to people like me.

Follow up 27th December.

It's all good I used windows via my son's surface pro and I'll be using it in future. Formatted properly and took roughly 40 mins once the car recognised it.

Hello everyone!

Looks like I have same problem as some people above.
Current version of firmware in my C4 Cactus is 31.08.05.86_NAC-r0 (WAVE 3). I have downloaded latest update 42.03.33.42_NAC-r0, which was automatically detected by Citroen Update app, and it didn't work for me. Tried several cards, tried updating with shared internet, waited some time befor sticking in flash card, nothing helps, i always get "Update not compatible with Hardware" error. Guess brigde update 42.01.72.32_NAC-r0 could help, but download speed from PSA servers is terrible, 30 kb/s and after some time it stops at all (latest update 42.03.33.42_NAC-r0, which was automatically detected by Citroen Update app downloaded very fast).

May be someone can share link to Google Drive with 42.01.72.32_NAC-r0 and/or 31.09.46.62_NAC-r0 updates?

Hello, administrator
I received a notification in the Citroen app that there are 2 updates available for my C5 Aircross.
What is the best way to do this? VR7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Either use the app to install the update or request the files from me directly and manually install them.
