superkick wrote: 14 Nov 2024, 09:43 Dear All,

currently i'm trying to update the nac wave2 of my Peugeot 3008 from 2019. As i understand the most actual update 21.08.90.52_NAC-r0 has expired licenses so installation will brick the system.

Is it possible to update to a earlier version as 21.08.87.32_NAC-r1 ?
When i try to update i constantly get the message; Not compatible with hardware

I tried several times with different USB drives (8gb, 16gb, 32gb) but without succes.

Tonight i will try the BSI reset as advised. But is it even possible to update from my current version 21.07.16.31_NAC-r0 to a way newer version?
And is there any possibility to get the 21.08.87.32_NAC-r1 version with license file from the forum?

My vin is VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Many thanks! :-D
No, you can't downgrade firmware. And as far as I'm aware, if the latest firmware's certificate has expired (see my earlier post in red above), then even older firmware is likely to have their certificates expired also.

However, I've just checked the firmware again today and can see that the certificate seems to be valid - so you can try again using this specific links and licence file, but I can't guarantee it:

Firmware Version 21.08.90.52_NAC-r0

Superkick Licence File

If this works for you, kindly let me know, so I can advise others, thanks.

@GiveMeABreak there is a risk that some of these updates (Firmware 21.08.90.52_NAC-r0, Staino Licence File) may render the system inoperable? ...........Can you send me updated GPS maps?.......folder created with the files are they correct?

You should not have those ICO and INF files on the USB.

No it won't render the system inoperable - but it may not install if the certificates are out of date.

1) You need to remove the 2 files above from the USB.
2) Why have you installed files on separate dates? This is going to cause a problem as I suspect you are mixing firmware and Licence updates!

You have a licence file folder created 20th November and a SWL folder created 27th September! Do not mix updates and licences.

You should use the same files I have provided, which should create folders the same day. Expect problems if you are not following guidance.

For Latin America, this is Map Version 26 (the latest):

Yes, but what about the SWL folder? That is showing September.......

You really need to reformat the USB in FAT 32 again and extract the files I sent you in the link using the latest version of 7Zip. Then licence file folder looks OK.

Hello, I am having a problem updating the fw on my Citroen C3 2017, as the fw is incompatible. I am currently on 21.08.87.32_NAC-r1 and trying to install 21.08.90.52_NAC-r0. Are there any special steps (like installing a different version before)? My VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff], no wifi. I am not sure if my car is Wave 2 and is being affected by the certificate issue. EDIT: The certificates are up to date and last until 2060.

So the current issue (as at November 2024) with Wave 2 systems firmware updates is down to the certificates which have expired. PSA have not updated the certificates and therefore this is making any Wave 2 firmware updates impossible at the moment. We do not know if they will renew the certificates, given the age of the Wave 2 units

The firmware certificates are digitally signed and when these expire the Head Unit will no longer accept them as valid and refuse to install them. The certificate for the latest firmware is Nov 3 14:38:04 2024 GMT.
Sorry for interruption but I'm having the issue same as almost everyone in this topic: "Version not compatible with the hardware" so after reading the topic (not all 52 pages of course) I checked the certificates located in /SWL/001315031666020829/Certificates. All 3 have either next update somewhere in 2025 or 2026 or validity till 2060.
Are there any other certificates that I missed or PSA software can't provide valid ones (at least for this car)?

Thanks in advance.

Good morning Mark
I formatted fat32 using Rufus latest version
I unzipped using 7z latest version
When unzipping the UpdateInfo.xml file the date is changed to 09/27/2024.
If you can test it I would appreciate it.

Ok, so the archive utility is maintaining the original file creation timestamps - that's ok then, as I thought at first you may be using different versions.

So if you have cleared away those other files I mentioned, disconnected the batter y for 5 minutes or so using the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure, then there may still have an issue with certificates that are buried elsewhere in the files and not obvious - there are a lot of files in the firmware archive. If this still doesn't work, you nay just have to wait and see if they provide a certificate update if this is the case. There's no loss really, as long as the system works, don't worry about it, just update the maps (V28 should be out soon for Wave 2).

Quite possibly that there are other hidden certificates not immediately visible.

It's why I asked one of the previous members to update us if he was successful with the downloads I provided. We will have to wait and see.

You may have the same issues as others recently trying to update. I have this update, but I generally install mine a few weeks after release, so had no issues at the time of course.

I'll provide you with the latest files available and a licence file, so at least you know these are the latest available in case you want to try these:

I haven't tried installing it yet, I was waiting for your response........thank you very much Mark

When I save my cell phone contacts, personal settings, wifi and bluetooth in my personal profile, it gives a bug and keeps restarting and I lose everything saved in the profile... do you think I should restore the factory settings, and then update the maps?

So you need to be aware that you may have in internal storage problem if it's refusing to save data - flash memory doesn't last forever. But a factory reset will lose all your personal audio and settings, you'll just have to spend a bit of time setting them up again.
