Sorry but it doesn't work. Same thing as before, not valid.

I've followed the instructions, checked and checked again even went out with 4 usb sticks :-). Just to save me running back and forth.

Process -

Format FAT32
Extract TAR file to USB stick
>> checked format which looks like this. (dated 27th Sep 2024 09:00)

SWL (folder) > long random number >
> Certificates
> Firmware
HashList.ini
>MediaHeader
UpdateInfo.xml

i added license folder
copied license file inside folder

I can't help other than what has been said (also, just to clarify you are not using a MAC?), most others here have no issue, so make sure you have used a PC and tries the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure.

Hi there Marc,

Thank you so much for all your help, as well as the files and procedures.
I have followed the instructions scrupulously but am still having trouble updating. Here's a summary of what I did :
  • Made 6 different USB sticks :
    • 2 sticks with all files provided by you (at root : SWL, UpdateInfo, and "license" folder where I unzipped the license file)
    • 2 sticks with SWL + UpdateInfo provided by you, but no license for OTA validation
    • 2 sticks created with Citroen Update software
  • Tried plugging them in, in that order - error messages are the same, "version not compatible with hardware"
  • Then followed you BSI reset procedure :
    • Used long timings : switch off, close doors, open window / 10 minutes / disconnect battery / 10 minutes / reconnect battery / 4 minutes / side lights / ignition / open door / engine on
    • I got a boot screen, and time & date were reset, so I imagine the NAC properly resetted
  • Then plugged in the USB sticks in the same order, but got the same errors
  • Went to Settings > System Info > Export Config to get the files which I am dumping below (please forgive me if long dumps are not allowed, I can make a pastebin)
Your instructions are clear and I understand this is the best guidance you can provide. Do you think there is anything else I could try ?

At any rate, thank you very much for all your help.

Cheers,

Ramy

Hello,
Today I downloaded the screen update via Peugeot Update. The update was installed with the engine turned on and then I got the message: Firmware update failed
Version not compatible with hardware!
Please remove the USB stick!
I downloaded the update from this thread and added my file in the license directory.
4 pendrives and each time after a few seconds the same message.
I have to disconnect the battery before each attempt.
The car does not turn off and the battery discharges.
HELP!

Hi

Very new to the party and after some update help if possible?

I I have just bought a 2017 Spacetourer Feel 8 seater and I’m trying to update the radio as it crashes when asking Siri to do anything and then comes back on!

VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

I have tried to use the Citroen update on my Mac but all I get when I plug the usb into the stereo is hardware not compatible

The app on my phone is saying updates available

Map update (27.0.0-r0)
Operating system of the car (21.08.90.52_NAC-r0)

Please please please can anyone help or is it worth buying a new radio but will I lose the functionality eg tyre pressure reset (and yes I’m a proper noob) lol…

Hello good morning. I have a Citroen grand C4 space tourer , 2019 registration , 1.2 pure tech. No problem until now for updating sat nav and infotainment. But my feedback of the quality of the sat nav is very bad. Too much lag, address recognition is poor, and the overall view is that between this nav and Google maps I prefer definitely Google maps. Basically not a good option. Even with the updates, no difference seen until now.

Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting isn't going to work! You need to do a proper BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure

When you are at the disconnection part, leave the battery off for a good 10 minutes. But before you do this attempt, make sure your car battery is not discharged. If it's over 5 years old it will probably be due for replacing.

You don't really need a licence file as your vehicle has built in Wifi, so will authorise the firmware update itself. Just make sure you leave the engine running throughout the process and that you have waited a few minutes after starting the vehicle before inserting the USB. Also, make sure you have not disabled the telematics system.

I have included the licence file below in case you have a problem with OTA authorisation, but do not mix licence files up - tey are specific for each firmware and vehicle.

Read the instructions in the link properly.

First - DON'T use a MAC for this! Mac's put their own hidden system files on the USB and these can cause the updates to fail or not even start. Please use a PC for this operation.

Firmware 21.08.90.52_NAC-r0

Plant38 Licence File

Map Update V27

Note: You do NOT need a licence file for map updates, so do not include this on the USB when updating the map only.

Instructions for Updating NAC or RCC Firmware, Maps & Licences

Please read the instruction in the link if using the licence file as the spelling of the folder and location are critical. Your vehicle has on-board WiFi for firmware authorisation, so should not need a licence file, but I am including it here if required. Please read the instructions thoroughly in the last link.

I don't use them either as the voice recognition doesn't understand Welsh place names, so totally useless.

I use Sygic navigation with my iPhone - the best system there is IMO.
