Hello Lovely People,

I've just completed my first week in my '21 DS3 etense - which I am loving! It's taken me this long to get to the bottom of all the gadgets and glory - so on Sunday I performed a firmware update, from 42.03.31.32_NAC-r0 (29/07/2020) to 44.07.33.32_NAC-r0 (21/08/23) and today, a maps update to 16.0.0.r0 - It looks as though they'd never been updated since the Factory.

However... The Nav now thinks I'm in Stroud, not Northampton... And I'm also having issues with bluetooth, and delays between screens, amongst other things.

Would it be possible to get a link to the/better/more stable firmware/maps, again - as the app and PC download app says 'up to date' - for me to reattempt in a place of better signal? Or I'd be happy to take advice on how to 'reboot' the thing to see if it cures the glitches?

My VIN is VR1**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Many thanks in advance, and if I'm in the wrong place, or asking the wrong questions answered elsewhere, I'm sorry! :)

Simon.

Sorry, but firmware is NOT downgradable once installed, so you are stuck with what you have.

If you are sure both Firmware and maps were applied ok, then you can try a BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure, however, you must leave the interval before the battery reconnection for about a good 10 minutes minimum, to allow the Head Unit to properly power down.

Hi Marc,

Thank you for your advice, and I understand about not being able to roll back the firmware to previous version.

I've tried a BSI Reset this morning - which reset the clock/date etc - but the Connected Nav GPS position is still incorrect (Stroud, not Northampton - 100miles west, 50 south of where I actually am). However - it is correctly tracking direction and speed, so it's still operating.

Any suggestions?

May I have a link to the same firmware update as I've just applied 44.07.33.32_NAC-r0 - so I can attempt to reapply - as that's where it's all started going wrong? While it appeared to update correctly, there is no mobile signal where I live, and I wasn't tethered - so I'd like to be sure this time.

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks Marc, I thought that was most likely the case.
It’s good to also know that for me the license is not needed for either touchscreen or map updates.
Thanks again for the help.

Ian.

No problem, it's only the firmware that requires authorising (via WiFi or a licence file); maps don't require any authorisation, just for refence.

GiveMeABreak wrote: 06 Oct 2024, 09:56 So note that from factory you had a Wave 3 unit. There is a 'bridging Firmware' that converts this to Wave 4 and this is where a lot of systems have problems, because the bridging firmware contains both a combined firmware and map update in one.

So below is the firmware and Map combination, and the licence file underneath.

Separately I have included the Map V12 as a standalone update.

Firmware V42.03.33.42_NAC-r0

Map Version 12

Ok it looks like im already on this sw version with the latest update from Citroen ( see atached)
Wither way i have downloaded both and ill try with the updates and update as soon as i finish :)

PS: what is the name of the navi system used here?
I saw some DS7 using same map packs is that good or bad ??

Thanks for the help and links.... updates on the way :)

Hi, me again :)
I've downloaded swf from the link and updated car but maps wont updated - it says unsupported hardware.
I didn't missed any step, tried with the 3 different usb drivers and still the same error.
maps are still v10. and swf is now from the link 42.03.33.42_nac-r0
any thought on that ?

Ok, so as I said, I can't help with the firmware at present as it's only offering the one you have, but here is the stand alone version of version 16 of the Map for you. No licence is needed for these.

Just to be sure, my current version is wave3 or wave4 (SYSTEM VERSION
Version: 42.03.33.42_NAC-r0
Dated: 2021-05-31 )

Do I need to go up with system version or just to try these maps v16 again on the current system.
From the link in the first post you provided, system update done, maps v16 update failed.

I hope I didn't create confusion in previous post.
And I really appreciate your support and effort to help me with this.

It's possible. If you've tried the map update from the link again that I posted above and it still won't accept it (and you are 100% sure you have formatted the USB again in FAT32 using a PC not a MAC), then it may require a later firmware. If you can't update it further with the same message, then perform a BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure and make sure you leave the interval before battery reconnection for at least 10-20 minutes to allow sufficient time for the Head unit to fully power off.

I have a good news, so after disconnecting battery unit for 30 min and cooling down, map v16 went trough without reformatting usb.
Looks like system was stuck with reading usb after system update although i did reboot it and drove car all afternoon. ( im IT so yes that part with formatting and preparing usb is not an issue)

I really appreciate all the work and links you provided, maps and system are up to date and I can continue with traveling around Europe :)

Update

Unread post by Lenken »

After downloading update "21.08.90.52_NAC-0" and trying to update my screen, a message came up saying that the update is not compatible with my software. What to do? I logged in with my chassis number so it should fit.

Sorry you don’t have an RCC system, you are way too early for RCC. You have a SMEG system and I don’t support these.

He says he installed it from a 2016 car. Does that make a difference? None of the information in the picture looks like SMEG to me.
