I bought a new c4x
I wonder if there is wifi in my car, I can't activate it but android play works without any problems.
IVI update is seen in my Citroen application for my car within the scope of every recall. Can you share any updates?

Oh my god, I'm so thankfull I found this forum =D>

I already had lots of troubles updating the firmware and maps of my Citroen Berlingo.
Bought the car second-handed, but the previous owner never did any update before.

After using different USB's and different pc's I finally found some succes;
  • updated till firmware 42.03.33.42 (the upgrade from wave3 to wave4) and maps v10.0.0, by the help of the Citroen update-software
But there the updates stopped, since the software does not known I was able to install the above one.
It still suggests me to install this one, even though I connected my car with the Citroen-app.
  • With the help of the Dutch PSA forum I found the .tar files for both the maps and firmware updates.
The maps I succesfully upgraded to v16.0.0. But the firmware does not seem to work, so I have two questions:
    1. Can I instantly upgrade to 44.07.33.32 or do I need to do them one by one?
    2. I only have a license file from the 42.03.33.42-upgrade. Will this one work for the other ones as well?
If not @GiveMeABreak, can you provide me one. My VIN is VR7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Hi

Ok, so the system is still only offering you the 42.03.33.42-r0 firmware and licence.

I can provide you with the other 5 updates, but you seem to have these already. Your vehicle has WiFi and an independent Telematic unit, so you have no need of a licence file - firmware is authorised automatically (make sure engine is running and you are in a good reception area and wait for a few minutes before attempting the update).

Try the next update first of all: 44.02.13.12_NAC-r0 and see if this will be accepted (don't use any licence file in the root of the USB).

Hi Marc,

Thank you for the quick reply.
Unfortunetaly the Telematic-unit is not working. I tested it through the SOS-button, but it didn't responded.
I think I will need to drop by my dealer to get that one fixed.

Further on, I indeed can get to the .tar-files for the firmware updates.
I will try the update later today without any license file onto it and will get back to you.

Jan

Jan - the independent telematic unit is required for the firmware authorisation via the PSA network. No point in even attempting this knowing it not presently operational.

When you switch the ignition on, the SOS button should come on for 3 seconds and extinguish afterwards. If it stays on there is a fault.

If it's flashing red, the battery is faulty / needs replacing.

Hi @GiveMeABreak

I'm getting the "this area is not mapped" issue with my 2022 e-C4 VIN: VR7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. Car is currently located in the ocean according to the map #-o .
Could it possibly be a corrupted maps update? Can you give me the latest links please?

Some people online are saying that it might be hardware - a faulty antenna or head unit. Is this likely to be replaced under warranty?

Thanks

I had the same problem with the RT6 unit in our X7 about 8 or 9 years ago. The satnav would have me believe I was driving through the Irish Sea!

It needed a replacement RT6 unit to fix the problem. Fortunately the car was still under warranty so I didn't have to pay for it. I think you may still be covered by your own warranty so I would get it into a dealer as soon as possible. Even if they can't deal with the problem immediately, get the presence of a fault recorded.

Hi Marc,

The update indeed didn't work, as said both because of the abscence of a license file and the telematic unit which doesn't work.

For the telematic unit; when I switch on the ignition, first the red led (in the SOS button) is on for approximately 3 seconds, then it switches to green for 1 second and goes out afterwards. So I guess there indeed is a fault in my system. I'"m afraid an appointment will inevitably have to be made with my dealer.

For now, can you provide me with the correct license files so I can continue updating the firmware?

Jan

Sorry Jan, that's the point - I can't! The system will only provide me with the single licence file for the update it thinks you need - in this case, the update you already have - I cannot obtain a later one for a later firmware. Hence why suggested getting the telematic unit working.

Have you actually tested it out by using the local call assist (Citroen button) to see if it dials out?

Agree, you best refer it back under warranty for this sort of thing. At present the servers are down so I can't check in any case (they have been having major issues for a while now). I'll check later.

Ok, now I understand :).

Yes I practically tested it. Both with the SOS button and the Citroen button.
They both stay silent, so no call goes out.

Thank you for the help anyway.
