Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
What sort of names have you called the music files? I've read that if there are strange non-alphabetical characters in the names this can cause some music players to choke.

Hello, I updated, but is this the latest firmware version or can I still update? If possible the firmware. Thank youGiveMeABreak wrote: 07 Aug 2024, 01:17Firmware Version 42.03.33.42_NAC-r0vvv2103 wrote: 03 Aug 2024, 20:45 Hello
I recently bought a 2019 Citroen C5 aircross. The previous owner did not update the car, so the car had version 31.09.46.62_NAC-r0. I tried Citroen Update and My Citroen apps, but I still can't update the NAC, it keeps showing "No updates available". Please help me update to the latest version, VIN VR7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Hi @GiveMeABreak can you help me with a license file?
I've bought myself a Peugeot 2008 (2021) last week. But I do have connection issues with my Samsung S23; it doesn't connect Android Auto via USB. With a Samsung S22 it does work however, so cable is fine.
Noticed the RCC version is still from 2020, while there were updates available since then. First try to solve connection issues, is to update the RCC to a more recent version hoping it is just a phone model addition in the firmware. If that doesn't help, I have to deal with the USB connector on my phone.
Found the download file for 6_0422_23.3I37.1 in an earlier post here, but read that I need a personalized license too. Can you help me with that? VIN of my car is VR3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
Much appreciated!

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Hi GiveMeABreak :)
I'm new in the forum, and I am desperate to find a solution to this problem.
I've been scouring around looking through various forums trying to find more about these updates.
I have a Citroën C4 Cactus 2018 VIN VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. MyCitroen shows the version 42.03.33.42_NAC-r0 is available (current version 30.05.50.42_NAC-r0), but whenever I fresh install it in my pendrive and upload it to my car computer it gives me this error "version is not compatible with the hardware".
The car hasn't been updated since my parents bought it and I find it neccesary to update since they use the car gps(map) a lot and more than once it sent us to a prohibited direction or to a street that not longer exists.
I've also tried installing previous versions unsuccessfully with the same error, I think the error may be that Im trying to jump from wave 3 to wave 4 missing some intermediate versions.
Any advice would be great, thank you.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
But as long as you have the correct firmware and you have followed the guide (Instructions for Updating NAC or RCC Firmware, Maps & Licences), then you can try the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure but leave the vehicle's battery disconnected for at least 15 minutes or so, then follow the reconnection part of the guide. This can sometimes reset the Head Unit, so that it will take the firmware update. BUT, you must leave the car engine running because if you interrupt the update (car going into economy mode or you withdraw the USB too early, you can crash the system.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Ok so your Cactus originally shipped with a Wave 3 unit. However, they have provided an ongoing upgrade path to Wave 4.
In order to do this there is a 'bridging' firmware that converts it, then you can use the wave 4 updates.
The problem is that your vehicle doesn't have on-board WiFi or an independent telematic unit which is normally used to authorise the firmware updates. If you don't have on-board WiFi, you need a licence file with the firmware to authorise the update.
Now the problem I have is that I can get the intermediate firmware versions for you - but I can't get the licence files for older versions. The system I use will only provide the latest firmware and the licence file for that later version.
The second problem is that each firmware update requires a separate licence, so you can't reuse it on a different firmware.
So the first two firmware versions below are for the wave 3 system, then the next one is the bridging firmware to Wave 4. The you are on the wave 4 firmware. They then went back to single versions of the firmware with the maps separate again from 42.01.72.32_NAC-r0.
31.08.05.86_NAC-r0
31.09.46.62_NAC-r0
42.01.72.32_NAC-r0 *
42.03.33.42_NAC-r0 *
* = Combined Firmware and Map Update
Now all I can give you is the licence file for the combined version, which may work for the single firmware version (excluding the map). So you could try this and see if it works.
Licence for 42.03.33.42_NAC-r0
42.03.33.42_NAC-r0 Firmware Only No Map

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
I’ve seen that here is a touchscreen firmware update for my Citroen c3 2023 model. Please would you be able to share the firmware file with me so that I can upgrade via a 32gb usb stick. I had trouble when I tried the official Citroen upgrade tool.

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Thanks to all for the assistance on this. I found that the first 5000 songs on the usb stick seem to get catalogued but that is the maximum. I'll just have to create a cut-down library of 5000 songs. Thanks to all for the help.GiveMeABreak wrote: 14 Sep 2024, 14:531) Make sure that the format is in the acceptable kbps range as specified in the manual.ianavey999 wrote: 14 Sep 2024, 13:56 Hi Marc,
I've given it another try today to load my mp3 files with a much smaller memory stick - 64GB containing 690 mp3 files within 46 folders. Total size of the music is 3.5GB. Format was the same as before as FAT32.
It did the same again and wouldn't read it, just like before. I left it plugged in for 15 minutes but it made no difference.
I'm not sure what else I can try other than formatting as NTFS

Ian.
GiveMeABreak wrote: 11 Sep 2024, 17:49 I think you may have too many files unfortunately. I know some earlier pre-NAC units seemed to have anywhere around the 5000 limit, but I can't confirm on NAC as I don't have that much music!
2) Try just a few files only and check the ID3 tags. Sometimes if the tags are incorrect the system may just skip them.

Ian.

Thanks for the update Ian, so we'll take that as a confirmation of a 5k music file limit for Connected NAC.

Sorry but I forgot to mention the new version of touchscreen firmware for the C3 that I’m looking for.
It’s 21.08.90.52_NAC-r0
