Re: DS 7 Failed firmware update...
Thanks for offering to help. After a while the screen turned off so as I was not worried of the battery running out, I ordered a brand new USB stick, prepared it today and turned on the car with the blue screen showing again. As soon as I plugged in the USB stick it started a firmware update and after half an hour or so it rebooted to the system.
HOWEVER, going to system it shows system version 31.09.46.62_NAC-r0, which is the original one from 2018, when the USB stick had 42.03.33.42_NAC-r0. So I don't understand, did all that not update it in the end?

Re: DS 7 Failed firmware update...
Oh, I see a change. The map function is gone. Tapping on the map gives me "Map not available. Updating or mapping absent."

Re: DS 7 Failed firmware update...
So the firmware update failed and it has recovered to the original version, but has removed the maps.
At least you have a working system now. If you like you can try just updating the maps and leave the firmware alone.

Re: DS 7 Failed firmware update...
When I got my Ds9 someone on another forum had one too. We have never had a firmware update but a maps one.
I was advised during the update to keep the engine running as it goes into eco shutdown mode and the install aborts. As such I did the install on a 1 hour drive a few months later.
The issue is while it's updating the whole system shuts down. So no radio and no heater controls.

Re: DS 7 Failed firmware update...
I tried the full update again, and this time it worked. It then proposed to do the maps update. That one failed. I restarted the engine, popped the USB back in, it still proposed the firmware update, I skipped, then I said YES when it proposed "Update map-eur present on the media inserted... Start installation?" I select the only available file "map-eur" and click Install. Then tells you to not switch off the ignition for a few seconds, but before I get any progress bar I get "Update map-eur has failed".GiveMeABreak wrote: 27 Aug 2024, 20:02 So the firmware update failed and it has recovered to the original version, but has removed the maps.

Not sure what else I can try

Perhaps I can download that separately from somewhere?

I think I asked for the VIN already. I need this to check map for correct system. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Re: DS 7 Failed firmware update...
You also have an after-sales campaign concerning water in the rear lights - may want to get the dealer to check it out - should be free to do, ref: JAQ.
Regarding the map, here's the standalone link - again, essential to reformat the USB to FAT32 and extract ONLY the contents of the compressed file to the USB.

Re: DS 7 Failed firmware update...
Yep, that worked, thanks! Not sure how the DS app was making a "broken" USB (it had also given me v10 instead of v16).
Only lingering issues currently:
- Google maps on my phone not giving audio instructions via the car (in fact the car just switches automatically to radio after a bit). Only way is if I have spotify playing music on the phone, then I can hear the navigation too. Maybe I will just start tethering to get android auto instead... It was the same with the old firmware, I was hoping this would have been fixed...
- MyDS android app was working before the whole firmware upgrade. Now it is stuck to that old data from 4 days ago and refresh gives me an error (although my bluetooth is working fine otherwise for audio etc)

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Hi,
I'm having some similar problems after a failed update for the touchscreen on our C4 SpaceTourer.
Stuck on blue screen of death. Citroens advice was to try just installing the firmware update and then do the maps separately, only the app won't let me do this as it thinks we've already got the latest update installed (usb stick I used first time round has both firmware and maps on it).
If anyone knows if any of the previous links that have been posted for firmware be suitable for our system, or if you have something that might fix ours it would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks,
VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
It was just over a week ago that I tried to update the system with the citroen app, as mentioned, it thinks I've got the latest version installed but it's just the blue screen. Was only bothered about having updated maps as we were off on holiday, as it was we ended up with nothing for the whole week!

Re: PSA NAC RCC Updates
Ok, so you have the Wave 2 system and the latest firmware for this is 21.08.87.32_NAC-r1.
So what's happened most likely is that the firmware has not been completed correctly - like the USB withdrawn too early or a corrupt USB Drive / files on the USB that should not be there, corrupt download etc. etc.
So follow the instructions linked to below for updating, but ensure you are not using a MAC and that you MUST reformat the USB again to FAT32.
Extract only the contents of the compressed file (not the compressed file itself).
Firmware 21.08.87.32_NAC-r1
You do not require a licence file as your vehicle has WiFi so it will authenticate the update independently.
One thing you should do BEFORE attempting the update in your case, because of the bluescreen, is a BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure. However in your case, leave the battery disconnected for 5-10 minutes minimum to ensure the NAC Head unit resets.
This should allow it to accept the update from the USB.
When you've followed the reconnection part of the guide and ensured the car starts, leave it running throughout the update (never attempt a firmware update with the engine not running or it can brick the system when it goes into energy saving mode).
When the car's running insert the USB and just ok the message about media not found if this appears, then it will detect the update and off you go (hopefully).
Let me me know how you get on.

That's great, ta, will let you know - if I need to disconnect the battery I might wait until after my wife needs the car for a dentist appointment tomorrow afternoon... just in case...
