Latest Map version is 16
Latest Firmware for your vehicle is 44.07.05.22_NAC-r0 which I provided a link for in a previous post and the V16 map in the post before that.

Now you are using a PC to install, you can try to update the firmware / map independently again. PC is always better for this sort of thing as Macs have issues with their file systems that can upset the installation.

As said, you have WiFi, so should not require a licence file.

Just install the firmware update or the map - don't attempt to install them both on the USB at the same time.

Hi,

My Citroen app says there is an update available: 42.03.33.42_NAC
My VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

I managed to download this file:
https://download-cde.tomtom.com/OEM/PSA ... _WAVE3.tar

I copied the extracted files to a 32GB USB, and was able to start the update proces in my car while the engine was running.

However, after 2 hours (the engine still running!) the blue bar showing the progress wasn't even at 25%! I think it's normal that the touchscreen turns off and on several times during the proces, but I discovered that after 20 minutes the update proces starts from the beginning (blue progress bar back to zero! ) So it's in a loop, and the update proces won't complete.
Any solution for this?

And how should the files be stored on the USB?
Now in the root is a file called 'UpdateInfo.xml' and a folder "SWL".
In that folder 2 subfolders named "001315031622734386" and "002315011619637877". Is this correct?
I don't see a licence file. Do I need that?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Hans

Be aware that this will be a combination of firmware AND maps and is a bridging firmware to convert your system from Wave 3 to a wave 4 system.

This is why the update is so large and it can take a long time.

Make sure you also put your licence file into the route of the USB:

Hi Marc,
Yes I'm aware of that.
Probably the licence file was missing, so I'm gonna put it on the USB and try again.
Are the other files correct on the USB? or should the 2 folders "001315031622734386" and "002315011619637877" also be in the root?
Thanks again.

The TAR filer should be extracted and allowed to make the requisite folders using something like 7Zip. Ensure the TAR file itself is not on the USB. The extract the licence file to the root of the USB.

Hi Marc,

Firmware update 42.03.33.42 was succesfull. I used the USB containing a combination of firmware AND maps. However after the firmware update I skipped the maps by answering NO on the question that appeared on the screen. After restart of the system I saw the existing map has been deleted, so it's impossible to use navigation. The error on the screen is: Map not available. Update busy or Map data missing.

The Citroen Update Tool then tells me there are 2 new updates available: Firmware 44.07.05.22 and Map version 16.

I decided to make 2 USB's in stead of 1 combined, and install them separately. The firmware update went OK, so the current version of my system is now 44.07.05.22_NAC-r0.
Installing Map version 16 seemed to go OK aswell, but in the end failed. Maybe it is searching for existing map data, but there are missing. Or should it also be usable for a clean install?

Do you have any suggestions what to do next to get the navigation working again?
Thanks and regards.

DS 7 Failed firmware update...

Unread post by kirkjames1 »

So, I just got a 2019 DS 7, installed MyDS on my phone and it helpfully told me I was running on 2018 firmware and there was an update. Half an hour later, armed with a USB stick I started the update... 10 minutes in it gave me a failure. Ouch, as a software engineer myself, I thought this is an expensive car, surely it will have a seamless rollback. And it claimed it did, only to reboot in a blue "Software loading on demand" screen...
I am creating a new USB stick in case the other one was faulty, but my main issue is that even if I turn off the engine and lock the car, that blue screen stays on. So if my second attempt fails and I'd have to go to a DS dealer, my battery will surely be dead. Any ideas? At least to turn the stuck infotainment system off? I am thinking I should look at the fuse diagram...

You should be aware that the firmware updates on these can be in excess of 40 minutes! So don't even bother doing this unless you have the time to do it fully - or you can brick the system if you interrupt it. I certainly would not pull the fuse in this state for the same reason.

If you provide your VIN I can see which system you have. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Hello @GiveMeABreak I successfully updated the firmware of my citroen c4 2021 model vehicle, but I had problems with the map update. The update starts and asks me to select the map. I select "eur map". I click on the install option. It gives an error saying "The map could not be loaded". Am I experiencing this problem because of the license file or is it another problem? My serial number is: VR7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Can you help me? Thank you

I suggest you retry downloading the map again and also make sure you format the USB to FAT32 - this should be done always after using it to update the firmware.

Maps don't need a licence file, only the firmware if your vehicle does not have WiFi (and you don't).

So may be a corrupt download. The latest Map is Version 16 for your system.

@iveMeABreak Thank you for your answer. Actually I tried these. Maybe I should try the fat32 formatting again with a windows computer. (My computer is a mac) Well when I downloaded the map there is only a folder named "SWL" on the usb stick. When I searched on the internet it said there was another file. Could it be related to this?

Yes, MACs are not a good idea, use a Windows PC.

And yes, there should be an SWL folder, but there should also be an 'Updateinfo.xml' file in the route.

Yes, that's the problem, there is no "Updateinfo.xml" file in the map update I downloaded from the citroen update program. Where can I download the map update file?
