1) Did you leave the engine running? This must be done - if not the vehicle can go into economy mode and interrupt the firmware update.
2) How long did the update take? Should be anywhere up to 40 minutes, if a lot less, it hasn't completed.
3) Did you remove the USB at any time? Doing so can leave the system corrupt.
4) Don't play with any switches or controls during an update.

Check that all the files are on the system correctly (use the FULL POST EDITOR & PREVIEW button to upload a picture from your PC or mobile) and post it here for me to see the content of the USB.

5) Start the process again but make sure you leave it in the vehicle with the engine running until it tells you it is complete.

Followed the instructions on the screen, it took around 22 min.

Engine running and i left the car alone for the duration, when the update was done, i pulled the usb stick as instructed on the screen.
The instructions said that when usb stick is pulled the system will reset.

After reset i shuffled true the menus and when tried to enter the climate menu it just said something like: please wait initializing

I lef it there for 6-7 minutes and the choose to restart the car, cycle the power.

And now it won't even register that I press the climate soft button next to the screen.

Please see attached picture of software Installed.

I'm unable to restart the update, I says no update required.

UPDATE: I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY TERMINAL AND LEFT THE CAR FOR 1 HOUR, now it works.

Great, sometimes a reinitialisation of the BSI can resolve this issue. But in future make sure you follow the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure for the correct procedure if disconnecting the battery.

Hello everyone,
I could not connect to the screen of my Citiören Berlingo vehicle with Android auto. I saw that there was a Screen update (6_0422_23.3137.1), I installed the Citroen update app on my Windows 10 machine and followed the on screen instructions, the problem appeared when starting the download, long before it had even downloaded anything "There was an error retrieving update data. Please check your connection settings "do it." A box will open saying: I can click "OK" on the box and then "continue download" but the same error box instantly reappears! I haven't been able to download it for 3 days.

My car is Citiören Berlingo 2019
VIN: VR7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

I would like a download link

Firmware 6_0422_23.3I37.1

Ziya Licence File

Extract contents ONLY to USB. Do not copy the TAR file to the USB or it will not work.
Next create a folder on the USB called licence or license (spellings vary - it will work with one of the other spelling) and then copy the licence file into this folder.

Keep the engine running - essential!

Hello,
I have recently bought a Citroen C5X Shine Plus, 2023 model, and am loving it.

However, I've been having a few quirks with the software not quite working as expected, and have been informed there's a firmware release that may correct the issues.
My system software version is NHW.1.19.44.8, whereas I've been informed there's a version NHW.1.20.93.7 (or perhaps even later version now) that has British English (as opposed to American English).
I've read on here that there's potentially a manual way of updating the system and navigation software, however the Citroen website doesn't list a software download being available. Can anybody advise, please? My VIN number is VR7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Many thanks.
Best regards

Hi Rob

Unfortunately you will have to sit tight, as I believe there is a considerable problem with one of the firmware updates that was initially released, which has caused almost total loss of functionality to some system with these vehicles where it was applied. It is my understanding that the firmware has now been pulled, which is why it is not available under your VIN direct from Citroen's servers.

I strongly suggest that if you do find a version later than yours on the general web from some unknown sites or forums, that you DO NOT attempt to install it. If you do, you may suffer the same fate and Citroen may decline to fix it, considering that if they have pulled the firmware and you have obtained it unofficially, that you may have caused the damage.

Wait for now until your app states there is a new firmware available for you to download. Some models can update OTA (Over The Air) in which case they will do so if and when an authorised update comes out.

If you are not sure - wait until your My Citroen App states there is an update available.

As it stands at my end I cannot provide the update for you as it has been pulled. I understand they are aware of the issues in France and are attempting to get a fix out as soon as they can.

Many thanks for your reply and explanation, Marc. Much appreciated and I will take your advice to await the official release of the system software.
Keep up the good work.

No worries.

I note in another recent thread, that a member in Taiwan has had his system crash, but I believe the dealership has amended the original or an earlier firmware version's date and version number to allow then to reinstall the older version back on to get him out of trouble until a revised version is released publicly.

I've moved your post here as it's not a new C4 model.

I'll need the VIN of your vehicle to check system you have and advise. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.
