The licence files may be included when using Citroen Update programme.

But most people don't need the licence file as long as the vehicle is connected to the internet via the WiFi as the update contacts the PSA server for the licence.

So I would again try and get in a good WiFi area before trying again.

So are you 100% sure you have a good WiFi signal where you are (3G or 4G, not 5G)? Try driving somewhere else if the coverage is weak or intermittent where you are. This is the biggest cause of update failure and make sure your vehicle WiFi is on.

yes, unfortunately, I have tried driving to different locations, connecting to both my phone's hotspot, and my wife's phone's hotspot. still the same message of not compatible version : ( and I don't want to take the car to service, because I am sure they will not do anything different that I can not do myself. and the update seems to work for most people, I don't understand why I can not make it work. I think I have read all pages on google search

Hello there!

I am sorry in advance if this is a wrong place to ask, as it might be a completely Citroen-side problem, but I have already tried updating in a dealership in my country (eastern Europe) and they were unable to do so but they say that the update exists.

I have been trying to update the firmware and navigation in my car, but for some reason both 'Citroen Update' app and psa-update CLI (https://github.com/zeld/psa-update) fail to find any update for my VIN.

It seems like Citroen Update is unable to find anything for any of 5 different C4 2021+ cars I tested, but easily finds the update for a random C3.

Here is what I have pulled from a car:

Does anybody know the way to fix that? It has an impact on a lot of new C4s. Can't say if all of them or only the ones tested.

For NAC Wave 4 systems:

44.06.44.22_NAC-r0 is the latest available Firmware (released about Dec 2022).
14.0.0-r0 is the latest mapping version.

Have you tried to update the files manually (one by one) by downloading the individual files. The combined updates can sometimes be troublesome.

Thank you for your reply. I did not try that yet.
Using Citroen Update tool is kind of how it should work, right?
So I sent requests to the developers at https://developer.groupe-psa.com/inc/ and https://developer.groupe-psa.io/.
This issue affects all C4s I tried.

I can download 44.06.44.22_NAC-r0 pretty easily along with private key, thanks to this repo https://github.com/ludwig-v/psa-nac-fir ... ngineering,
but maybe you could point me in a direction where I can get maps and what additional files are needed for them?
For firmware as well, if there is a better place.

I will definitely do so if the proper way fails.

I have updated both firmware and cartography using the links you sent. Still wish that Citroen Update would work though.

My Citroen smartphone app said I need to update the touchscreen, and sent me this email (exactly as shown):

Hello,
Your navigation system will be updated by CITROËN Update Application. This application will prepare the USB key that you should use in your vehicle.
If you have already installed the application, open it and start the download of the update.
If you haven't installed the application yet, Install CITROËN Update Application from the links below:
For Windows:
For MAC:
Make sure that the application is installed and saved in your computer's hard drive and not directly in an external support connected by USB.
You must have administrator rights on the computer and a broadband Internet connection.

It's just informing you of an update. You download the files using the PC or MAC app, which does the download and preparation of USB for you. The phone app is just alerting you to an un update.

Having said that, this is the way it is supposed to happen, but recently there have been multiple issues of the Citroen Update App malfunctioning and not downloading the files. So either contact your dealer and complain if the desktop app is not working, or let me have your VIN and I'll send you a link to the files directly. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.
