Well ive had a steady day woke late 8ish then med time, wont bore anyone with that, about 11am meds kicked in i felt ok, so i checked the header tank of the car , empty i filled it back up and left it im just going to check to see what the thing is holding

We had Polly's bonnet up and investigated Husky, but I don't think we have anything we can add over what Richard's diagram shows. To see properly would have meant removing the under cover and with rain around in a muddy car park that wasn't possible I'm afraid. It does look like a replacement of the oil cooler seals may be the order of the day!

I did bleed the system this morning and ran the engine till warm, the level in the header tank is the same as earlier , no this trows a spanner in the works as ive got the whole complete oil filter & coolant housing on order to do a swap out with old & in with new, im baffled now. Off to bed now engery levels almost gone.

Hello guys, i felt well enough to start the repair this afternoon so ive removed front bumper undone the headlights and removed the top slam panel which has allowed me to lift and pull back the radiator which has hopefully give me enough room to get to the part i need to replace.

Ive purchased the complete part 45 pounds free shipping as im thinking sods law that if i changed the cooling fin part then the oil seals will go next in a few months so im changing the whole complete part , then i will repair the old unit to keep as a spare , so must order the seals needed soon.

New unit will be here on 20th March. Fingers crossed

Its the steroids mick , im dreading when the course ends which is tommorow.

I did a compression test via the filler bottle and with tourch & mirror saw some large drips coming from the cooling finns and lots of dried crystal stuff too so the oild seals are well shot.

Update.

New part arrived this morning while taking the old part off.
This revealed the gaskets to the block were not looking at there best & look like 90.000+ miles old.

Ive part moved the dpf out the way , the sensors needs undoing then i can pop it off & clean it while i have room. The oil feed pipe has the modified bolt which has no mesh ! But i still clean it while it was in my reach.

So an hours tinkering this morning and another this evening bring me closer to completing the job.

Were do i start with this update. Ok
Everything completed . Still leaking . Now i need some pictures of this engine to determin if there is a cor plug under the egr cooler housing i need to know if its a plug or the coolant housing .

Im beat by the weather so far but my next dry day im going to remove the air box gain some room then investigate, im thinking if its leaking at this back part of the engine then surely it wont drip on the front ? My drive has a small fall or run back which is slight nothing major so maybe it might not be at the rear.

Its difficult to find the source because looking from the ground up on an old worn out back lol ,all i see is some 8mm bolts with coolant drips on them maybe the engine has failed ? Maybe previous owners took notice of the over exzagerated service intervals and its warped the head ?
The oil is clean , the coolant is ok. Were else can this leak be coming from once the dpf is moved theres nothing to point to where a leak can spring from .Help anyone ?
