Android Auto missing on Citroën SpaceTourer 2017

This is the Connected NAV system.
Main Features: It is a fully integrated Telematics System featuring CarPlay, Android Auto, Real Time Services, Voice Commands, High-Res Display, 3D Navigation, Bluetooth Hands Free & USB. 2 versions of the system are available NAC (Navigation Audio Connectée) and RCC (Radio Couleur Connectée) or Connected Colour Radio, which does not have the Integrated Navigation or Live Services.

Android Auto missing on Citroën SpaceTourer 2017

Post by SpaceSandman »

Hi all. Bought a 2017 SpaceTourer. Love the van. However, only the Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink icons are visible in the app menu. Android Auto is not there. The Android Auto compatibility site however, shows that the this model is compatible with Android Auto. I have updated the NAC firmware, tried multiple cables and Android phones, including a Google Pixel, but doesn't work.

When connecting an iPhone, it works perfectly. Here a picture of the NAC:

Anyone has seen this before? I feel like the feature should be there, it just needs to be activated. Maybe through OBD2 port?

*update* I have put some more research in this. My SpaceTourer has a Wave 1 NAC. I read on some other forums that Wave 1 does not support Android Auto because the hardware of the main unit doesn't support it. To add Android Auto, you would have to replace the main unit of the NAC with a Wave 2 or higher NAC. If this is true, Android Auto will never work on a NAC Wave 1. Is this true? Is there anybody with a NAC Wave 1 system with Android Auto? The firmware would be 7.3.1-r1.

Cheers!

Try to do update first via Citroen app or from Citroen website.

Not sure about the firmware your system runs, is it Android based?
Have a look/read of this, I may be of help.

Yes, thanks for the tip. I have updated all the firmware using the app and installing it in the car using a USB stick. No luck.

Thanks for your response. It's the factory fitted NAC unit. It's proprietary and I cannot install any OS myself. Will have to find a way to enable the Android Auto feature another way.

Buy Arduino and try that way then. But it require latest software too.
