Well, if you are in the Whitchurch area (Shropshire), you probably want to go to the petrol station in Grindley Brook. I filled up the car with diesel there last Tuesday for £1.41 a litre. Petrol was £1.34 a litre.

We will not be staying at The Globe in Alvington as it is fully booked, So the 18th will see us in the Angel Hotel in Coleford. We could still meet elsewhere for dinner if it suits Gibbo and Forrester better, post up your thoughts!! :-D

Excellent :) I hope you've made it easy for me to navigate... You know my lack of skill and ability in that role ;) I have the trophy for world's most useless

From what I've seen of Waze it's even worse than me Steve  Like a lot of mobile phone apps in my experience, absolute and utter rubbish.

No, if all else fails I have my trusty Garmin Nuvi... It may be old but it has up-to-date maps by virtue of my cycling and running Garmins and does all I need. A superb bit of kit and best of all, it cost just a fiver from a charity shop!

There is also Satnav in the car and a mobile unit in the glove box but half the reason for doing it is for the fun with maps so I may have to fit the car with a faraday cage!! :-D

 They put Eddy Current in one of those when they finally caught him, having gone to ground in an electric field... He was accused of stealing valuable joules from Milli Henry...

Oddly enough I have had quite good experiences with Waze when Google maps has failed.

My Garmin satnav is about twenty years old, never registered or updated so has severe limitations.

The Angel is fine with me, haven't been there for a few years but it used to be ok.

I have now completed the itinery and a fully plotted route. The map below is not accurate to the actual roads planned but does show the route with the orange line and the stops labelled in red. You will need to click on it and zoom in to read the detail, possibly by saving the image and opening it in a picture editor which I tried with 'Paint' and it works ok!! :-D

Over lunch yesterday, Mick and I had a good look at the route on the OS maps...

It's looking absolutely spectacular and I'm massively looking forward to it :)

Calling all Mid Wales, North Wales, Lancashire and Cheshire members. We are driving through your areas in April as detailed above. Anyone care to come and say Hello over a coffee or a beer would be most welcome, just let us know on here and we can get some ideas together. :-D
