Strange electronics

My Citroen Xantia 1.8LX M reg has started to do something strange. As I am driving along, it will sometimes pop up the STOP indicator on the dashboard. This will flicker and will get brighter then darker then go off. The suspension lever is always in the same position (normal) so it isnt that. If I stop the car and turn the engine off then on, sometimes it wont do it again.
Any ideas?

What other lights come on with the stop indicator? Does your water temperature light or oil level / pressure light come on?
What is your LHM level like? What about water and oil levels?

Hi ya
Managed to sort this... it was the hydraulic levels. In the high position, the yellow bits weren't in the middle - they were all the way down. Put in half a litre of fluid LHM Plus and whammo - fine now
