ZX ESTATE 1.9TD TOWING
COULD ANYONE TELL ME IF ANYONE HAS TOWED A CARAVAN WITH A ZX 1.9TD ESTATE AND WHAT SIZE CARAVAN.

I tow a caravan about 5000 miles per year, but all my towing has been done with a BX TZD Estate and latterly, a 2.1 Xantia Estate. However, the BX with its 1.7turbo engine and lighter weight than the ZX, coped very well with 1000KGs on the back, so the 1.9turbo should be fine. As for weight, the ZX Estate has a kerb weight of 1150Kgs and with a 1000Kgs van on the back you would be towing at a ratio very close to the recommended 85%.
