Re: c16rkc's mad house
You're all saying just what I want to hear
Ride quality is a funny thing, because most of the population seem to want something that corners like a race car, which I think is why German cars are so popular.
I personally do not care one ounce how a car handles, because, although like most of us I did drive like a moron when I was in my 20's, I have grown up now, and I take my time, rarely going above 50mph. I brake very early for corners, and accelerate gently. What I love is a smooth ride, without feeling the bumps.
It sounds like the Citroen C5 will do just that!

Re: c16rkc's mad house
I rather like my C5 facelift. It has the 2.2l HDi engine (with, when new, 173HP), and suspension with Sport function. Chucking her around corners is fun, so long as you can see far ahead enough.

Re: c16rkc's mad house
I found the C5s to corner very well and take roundabouts so well that everything else would be left behind. For a couple of minutes anyway.
While everyone else was braking approaching bends and roundabouts I was accelerating gently, just floats round.

Re: c16rkc's mad house
Well don't I feel silly...
My lexina has not arrived yet, so I can't talk to the car yet, but I decided to jack it up ready to make goings easier.
I unscrewed the suspension fluid reservoir lid, as advised, but then for some reason I also unscrewed the power steering "just in case I had the wrong one"... even though the lid is clearly labelled as the steering.
I jacked the Citroen C5 up, then a few minutes later it took a wee...
Pesky Citroen...
The Mercedes CL is looking very sad...
But the S class is starting to look worried. It's been Lindsey's daily while her Audi us at the garage having a recondituoned steering rack (yep... happens to Audi's too...). But the Audi comes home tomorrow, and then the S class is going to the glue factory (well actually it will be going to market...)
Lindsey's not taken to this car either, so neither of us want it

Hmm, an ill Citroen versus a Merc, you've definitely converted. It's one thing changing a part it's another thing losing blood and sweat over it and enjoying the smugness afterwards

Re: c16rkc's mad house
The LDS is shared by the suspension and the power steering. The black reservoir is for the LDS. The BHI (suspension system) sits just below the reservoir, while the power steering unit is in the front of the wheel arch, behind the bumper (and protected by the wheel arch liner). It looks like you didn't raise the suspension to full height first (going by the rear wheels).
The white reservoir is for the coolant.
Do you mind me asking how much you paid for your Lexia equipment? If it was under £100 (new) it may not have the full opto-coupler set.

Re: c16rkc's mad house
I decided to take look at this LDS fluid, as I appear to have lost half a litre.
I squinted as I looked, remembering that the Mercedes CL insists on rare Dragons breath extract, which can only be purchased on the eve of the third coming of Jesus, and costs more than adamantium.
I hoped the Citroen would be different... I got my wish.
Turns out the Citroen runs on the blood of albino Virgins, rare as griffins teeth, and possibly more expensive... hmmm.
Now I know why there's a bottle in the boot, its a display of wealth more powerful than a white hoody with "GUCCI" written across the belly.

Re: c16rkc's mad house
Good news - my Citroen software is due to be delivered today!
It turns out Royal mail accidentally sent it to Diss, and then it had to go back to Chelmsford before being diverted back to Wisbech where I live... so it's been a couple of extra days
But tonight I'll unwrap it with excitement, and I look forward to seeing what it can do... and hope it has enough flux capacitors - if not I may be asking Hell razor for some advice on what I should have bought...

Re: c16rkc's mad house
I don't think you'll have issues with the flux capacitors Chris as I believe the more modern neutrino-photon reduction system is fitted to yours!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Not the model with the bio gel packs then?
