Yeah good to hear it running again, it's a little bit rough but ok. No fault codes, hence why I think it's ECU related it was like this before the engine was pulled. I need to tidy up the wiring and will get photos and then some live data when I can, she is definitely overfuelling I can smell it was when she is running.

Awh I am sorry to hear of your woes hopefully you will be able to get it there without too much hassle, do you have motor rescue on your policy sometimes it's added to fully comp. If so they could transport it for free. Lhm is expensive stuff to be topping up with but if it's needs be. Has she sank much? If not it might not be too bad of a leak . I feel your pain hopefully you can sort it easily without too much pain. You definitely have my kind of luck.
Hopefully it's just a bit of plumbing.

I have a similar problem waiting for me after I fix The engine in the steering rack she is leaking LDS from the left hand gaiter so I will have to rebuild the rack. I already done the pinion seals but didn't realise that she was leaking there aswell so plenty of pain. I also have to have a look at the left hand wiper motor which had failed again 🤬I only bought a set early this year.and they were working fine before I took the engine out.its shocking the trouble this car is giving me.

Well done Darren,

At least you have got it running. Re the injectors this is out of my depth, I would be seeking some advise from a specialist. Are you going to refit the injectors you bought and test. If you can't code them it maybe suggesting the fuel ecu is defective but I have no idea on how to test for that.

Keep up the good work your are almost there.

Hi Kenny, thanks, if necessary I will bring them to a specialist. As for the ECU I think given the fact it actuates the injectors I would imagine it means the only way to test the theory is to try a different one.i will try one of the other injectors in number three cylinder uncoded see if it will run and function it might answer my question on the ECU aswell.

I have never had the need to code injectors on Peugeot/Citroen. Last ones I did where 2.2 Transit, PSA engine, Reconditioned injectors and the ecu would get so far and stop the process. The engine run like a bag of S4IT. Persevered and eventually all codes accepted by ecu and it run like a clock. I was sure it was injector related as I had done a full rebuild on engine and was confident everything else was spot on. Perseverance, you are almost there.

Just finished changing injectors she is buttery smooth running now and leak off is half what it was and more importantly within spec. Much happier with her but she does still smell fully maybe I am just too used to petrol engines now.

Music to my ears!

Before it was like Napalm Death.

Now it's like Mozart or Iron Maiden.

Much, much better.

You must be over the moon. I'll get my telescope out and look for you tonight!

Yeah totally agree remember them in their hay day the brother was a big fan of napalm death I'm more of a maiden fan myself. Yes over the moon I'll wave on the way past😁. Did you get sorted with the HDI yourself. I meant to say thanks Steve for the suggestion of just trying the injectors.

All I can say is WELL DONE =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

Sorry but there is no emoji for an encore !

Just give you a giggle my noisy bearing is sorted but I snapped a brake caliper bolt refitting the brakes. The strange thing was I was thinking I should buy a new set of bolts.

My afternoon is consisting of a leaking power steering supply pipe nipple.

Just about to re-flare and hopefully all fixed. Only used a litre of LHM driving 15 miles to mate’s.

Mind you. Light was in alll the way. Steering started to groan then suspension was getting harder so couldn’t have gone much further before brakes started to go. 😁

Had spare 5.5 litres with me anyhow.
