There is a bit of a SAAB gathering in The North East Land Sea and Air Museum just down the road from you Steve on Sunday if you are interested. The bloke I was talking too in the SAAB 96 had travelled down from Fife to go to Sunday's event. (You may have to pay £3.50 the normal entry for the museum).

Re: The Maker's Name-Close up Original Photos only.
Haven't been there since the kids were small but may change that.
I thought they had dragged the Vulcan there but was told a couple of weeks ago that it had flown in when it was still Sulgrave Airodrome (we used to watch the 'planes and skydivers from our sitting room window until Nissan buggered that) and had been unable to fly out as the runway was too short.
A mate had a 96 combi that we could cram more junk into than the Volvo 245.
I spotted one last week, pulled off the side of the road where the A1231 passes under the A182.
Traffic held up by the ambulance and police car stopped in the outside lane, two very worried women stood behind the 96.
Didn't get the reg, may see if I can pull it off the dashcam.

One of my customers a local motorbike cop had a Saab with a V4 engine, rallied it a bit

My mates Combi had the V4, a Triumph engine if I am not mistaken, although I believe some of the later ones may have been Ford when Triumph were unable to supply them.

I was lucky enough to get inside and sit in the Vulcan cockpit, very tight to climb into as access is from inside, and very dark.....more dark knowing what ordinates it could carryNewcastleFalcon wrote: 16 Sep 2023, 22:22There is a bit of a SAAB gathering in The North East Land Sea and Air Museum just down the road from you Steve on Sunday if you are interested. Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.

There has to be a makers name somewhere amongst these. Back in 2015 a friend of mine did the Vulcan ground experience day.

It still surprises me how these instruments were used to help in potential nuclear warfare

A surprisingly disappointing effort at a model name here, and but probably appropriate for what is a strange looking vehicle from Fabbrica Italiana Automobili di Torino.
